Clayton Giles Arrives in Washtinton, D.C.

Divorce I feel I have to apologize for the lack of reporting we've done on Clayton Giles' Journey for Kids, an incredible 2,500 mile bike ride a 13 year-old boy is doing to protest the way courts treat children in divorce cases. This young man, who I met briefly in NYC, could very well be doing more to reform the court system than the efforts of several focused father's rights groups. Because he's not an adult yet, his message is being listened to, and his petition has thousands of signatures which he will be presenting to President Bush in the next few days. Click here and take a few minutes to read about Clayton's journey and his dedication to doing something to make a difference.

I've met with Clayton as well, while he passed through New Jersey, and I want to congratulate Clayton and his dad, Eric, on the completion of this part of their journey. Clayton is a wonderful kid and an excellent ambassador for Shared Parenting. Too many times we forget that, while fathers benefit from sharing in the lives of their children, the REAL beneficiaries of shared parenting are the kids.

The trip is not altogether complete. Clayton plans to drive to Toronto and complete the journey by biking from there to Ottowa to present his petitions to Prime Minister Chretein. (I hope I spelled that right;-)

All the best, Clayton!

Are there any major news sources covering this? If so, could someone point out a URL?

Thanks in advance!

No, unfortuantely there are not. There has been sporadic local coverage, but there's no network (print or broadcast) providing any regular coverage. The way keep up to date is by visiting Clayton's website cited on the original post.
