DV research suppressed when it implicates women

Part of Glenn Sacks' most recent newsletter, the issue is detailed here. Glenn's newsletters always have great stuff, but some things stand out as important to underscore because of their value as resources for reference. This is one of them. Excerpt:

"I recently discussed the way that the research showing that women are just as complicit in family violence as men has been suppressed and obscured in this blog post. In the blog posts below, researcher after researcher details the impediments they faced in conducting and/or publicizing scientifically sound and honest research on women's family violence..."

I remember a couple of posts on this site by Police officers from around the country that mentioned that they couldn't report DV female against male, and that if someone had to go to jail, it was the Man. Same with good gun reports, they don't want anyone to know the truth.

and not long ago was discussing this type abuse of men w/ a cop.

said he just happened to be the closest on a call the other nite, he was a high ranking cop, and when he got there (within a minute) the woman was beating the living crap out of her husband, a war vet. said the guy had his hands in his pockets, i guess to keep from hitting back. cop said the guy was the only one showing any signs of wear and tear. she even admitted she started it.

i told him i already knew which one went off in the squad car in handcuffs. he just frowned and shook his head.

how long are gonna let these "elephants in the room" keep trampling us?
