US: Rally at State Capitols for Equal Rights for Fathers

Via Marc A.:

All,

Today is ***FRIDAY THE 13th*** from 12:00pm till 3:00pm those who want family court reform and EQUAL parenting legislation are UNITING at their State Capitols in all 50 states and DEMANDING a change. At last count, we have in excess of 40 states participating in the landmark event!

Here in Sacramento we anticipate the largest gathering of those who want family court reform ever. The 42' PURPLE CRISPE BUS has driven up from San Diego. William Wagener from On Second Thought TV is driving up from Santa Maria. Many are traveling from all over the state to meet with our legislators.

The media has guaranteed they will be present, call me to confirm that you will be present and you wish to speak to our legislators BOTH in Sacramento and Washington DC. This event will be video taped nationwide and copies will be sent to our employees in Washington DC informing them that we are now UNITED nationally and we want family court reform.

Here is a link to our promo video:

If you want change, I will see you at the NORTH STEPS of the Capitol tomorrow, we will be lobbying from 9:00am till 12:00 then our rally runs from 12:00pm till 3:00pm.

with your help...

Georgia checking in: 3 fathers, 3 wives, 4 teen/adult children and one toddler arrived at the Capitol Bldg at noon.
Capitol police didn't throw us out, but they made it quite clear they were less than pleased about our presence and would prefer we left... to the degree they ordered a wife in a wheelchair and toddler "off the grass" which happened to be the only shade on the lawn except the curb along the Ave and that we remove the wood pole used to fly the F4J flag because "it could be used as a weapon". They also instructed us to not rally directly in front of the bldg but rather on the steps and curb along said Ave and further that if we wished to rally again we must obtain a permit.
No legislators came out to speak with us and we were completely ignored by the local media and CNN whose corporate offices are in Atlanta.
Sadly, we were given a warmer reception by women than by men, overall unless a man had his own 'family court nightmare' story to relate they didn't want to be bothered.
I believe we can say we actually reached a few fathers as they discussed their personal ordeals and we referred them to the F4J web page from which they could network to other Fathers Rights resources and efforts.
We did get several good pictures of the folks involved, which have been forwarded to the F4J event coordinators, Glenn Sacks (GlennSacks dot com) and Ned Holstein (Fathers and Families dot org).
The rest of you rally attendees, fill us in... how'd it go?
