UK: Pre-nups on way to legal recognition

Story here. Excerpt:

'Pre-nuptial agreements could soon be legally binding in Britain.

The divorce system has previously resisted allowing the contracts - popular in the U.S. among celebrities and the super-rich - although judges can take them into account during divorce proceedings.

But senior judges and lawyers say the system should be modernised and the contracts should receive legal recognition.'

If marriage is sold as the height of female romance (even though its really just a legally binding document) then Pre-Nups should be the ultimate male romance. Think about it guys. What other document ensures:

-She's not just in it for the money
-She could agree to 50/50 spliting of the kids
-She's wise enough to know, there's always should be a in case of emergency

Ultimately the pre-nup is the only document that shows a man that she's really marrying you because she loves you.

you can't make any decisions about child custody in a prenup
that a judge has to consider.

and the 1st thing she usually does (for younger women) is get pregnant,
sometimes by "accident". there goes the "agreement", and she knows it.

and if judges decide she isn't getting enuf stuff they can
and will void the agreement.

i've heard it said that if anything changes during the marriage
not covered in the NUP that too can void it. it appears for the most
part just another slight-of-hand way to get him to sign that one-sided contract.

it seems to be useful sometimes, however, for older couples. but how can one trust
anything from a system designed to pick a man's pocket?
