Florida kindergarten teacher defends having class vote 5-year-old boy out

Story here. Excerpt:

'A kindergarten teacher told police she wanted a 5-year-old boy to hear how his behavior was affecting his classmates.

After students shared their view, Morningside Elementary teacher Wendy Portillo had them vote, but said the vote was only to keep Alex Barton out of class for the day, not for good.

"Portillo said she did this as she felt that if (Alex) heard from his classmates how his behavior affected them that it would make a bigger difference to him, rather than just hearing it from adults," according to a report released Thursday morning by the Port St. Lucie Police Department.'

Encouraging the gang up mentality and to do this to a disabled young boy is atrocious. Or a girl. This is not right. According to the state it's not criminal but it's not ethical. I hope some consequences come upon her. When people have zero consequences for their behavior, zero changes happens.

Like most women, she's seems unwilling or incapable of showing any accountability for her actions. She'll live her entire life believing her treatment of this boy was somehow justified.

Jack Nicholson from as Good As It Gets: When asked how he's so astute at writing novels about women, his response: "I just think of a man and take away reason and accountability"

A friend of mine has a son who until treated for ADHD had a reputation with his teacher as being a violent bully but when observed by his parents what was really happening was that he was being hit and when he hit back, his attacker would yell for the teacher.

I can't help wondering if the boy in this article is not the victim of classmates who are better at gaming the system than he is.
