Woman Killed Self, 2 Children When She Walked Into Traffic on Interstate

"A woman with a history of mental illness purposely walked her young niece and nephew into oncoming interstate traffic to commit a double-murder suicide, a prosecutor said Friday.

Marcelle Thibault, 39, was driving south on Interstate 495 in Lowell last week when she turned the car sharply, drove across the median and northbound lanes and began driving against traffic in the breakdown lane, authorities said.

She then stopped the car, removed her clothes and undressed the children, took both of them into her arms and walked onto the highway. She and the children were struck by two cars and killed."

Moral of the story,You can't just trust you're children to any old female babysitter!! She may decide it's her choice to kill the children!!

If the situation was similar but with a man commiting the double murder-suicide, the tone of the news article would be different, needless to say. The man would be described as selfish, cruel, and possibly evil. When a man snaps (often for good reason) and commits this type of violent crime, he's depicted as a monster. When a woman does it, she's portrayed as a tragic victim of evil forces outside of her control that got the better of her.

Nice comment! Very nice stab at the fear mongering idiots like John Walsh who recommend never leaving your children in the company of ANY male as the risk of abuse is to high.

I suppose morons like that would view this situation like my subject line, "Well, at least she didn't rape them". I mean, after all, she is a woman and women have the right to slaughter children all they want don't they? They are after all, by far the leading child killers even before you take abortion into account, and they always have been.

Nothing new here, just another woman demonstrating her supreme control over children.
