Baskerville on the Deadbeat Dad Industry

An excellent and comprehensive new essay (.pdf file) titled “From Welfare State to Police State,” by Stephen Baskerville argues that - "Through child support,(state) governments throughout the U.S. found they could turn a profit from the growth of single-parent homes. ... Child support became politicized by the early 1990s, when parents who allegedly fail to pay — "deadbeat dads" — became the subjects of a national demonology, and child support went from being a minor matter affecting a few people on the margins of society to a sacred political cow in the national vocabulary."

This scum is profiting from the destruction of the American family.

looks like good strong research. much appreciated.

these freaks have based the whole gov't scheme on bilking the average guy and holding his children hostage, even if they aren't his children. i've always said that one small thing will eventually topple this house of cards, and it came to me the other day what it might be.

while over at a friends house one of those "baby's daddy" shows was on and everyone was laughing at the antics when a friend of mine, totally married and blind to what is happening w/ CS and such, made a comment that has rang in my head ever since.

"Men's birth control will put an end to shows like this almost overnight".

there it is, in a nutshell. it will be hard to keep expanding gov't for something that is quickly dwindling. can't wait to see how this plays out. they may indeed try imputing income for all men and collecting taxes on what some judge feels you SHOULD make.

so i have just one question.

WHAT IS THE HOLD-UP WITH THE MALE BIRTH CONTROL? i want a double dose.

It's only a matter of time before the technology arrives, and it'll also bring better female contraception with it. Women won't be able to blame pregnancy on men alone any more.

Like0 Dislike0

do not even say women's contraception this or that. they have had more than adequate (and multiple) means for years. birth control is 98%? effective. and yet everywhere you go you hear " the pill didn't work for her". lies, lies and more lies. that's how i got my youngest son. her stepmother told me she planned it.

DO NOT TRUST THEM. THEY LIE.

somebody once said that the main 2 things women want in this world are kids and money, and one will get them the other.

men need their own pills.

guess it still won't do married men any good. probably make it illegal for married men to take them w/o wife's consent. many states already make it illegal for a married man to have a vasectomy w/o written permission from the wife. guess that's her body too, like in abortion.

Are you kidding? Illegal to have a vasectomy without a wife's consent?

from what i understand it is required in all the states bordering mine, but not here. and many more. funny how it isn't talked about.
all these laws passed and no one knows or talks about them. if memory serves me right, when i lived in Fla. in the early 90's they didn't have this law, then they elected a bunch of women legislators and soon after this law was in effect.

always wondered why women could stand up w/ a straight face and demand abortion rights because "it is my body, my business and nobody else", and then demand laws to have control over another person's body. they really do consider you their property after marriage.

if men have not been stupid where women are concerned they sure know how to act the part.

Don't lay down with a woman, ever.

It's a small sacrifice to wait a couple more years for a reliable pill or patch.

Profits will overcome feminist tyranny.

What will happen when men never again have to lose track of their fertility, and can choose when to turn it on or off?

End of the feminist dream, gents.

THE (glorious) END.

The male "Pill" isn't the answer. The number one enemy of fatherhood isn't feminists but promiscuity. The female "Pill" and it's enticing nature, false sense of security, as well as secretive nature when it comes to using the drug is a big part of why we are in the mess we're in. A promiscuous culture gives rise to a totalitarian state to manage the social chaos that ensues. When you try to outsource the family to the state, it gains dictatorial powers over its citizens. But the problem in the long run is that the state eventually bankrupts itself and the civilization goes extinct in the process. With the breakdown of the family that results from a promiscuous society, women in droves are forced to go into and remain in the workforce just so that their income taxes can keep up with the interest payments on the national debt. That's the main reason why all these Western governments are now so hell-bent on subisidizing fatherless families, that is, in order to get as many female workers as possible into the system. That's also the same reason why all these Western govenments tolerate predatory behavior from women when it comes to child support. It's not so much a matter of idealogy but for the simple reason they would now all go under if too many females came off the dole. The only reason we're kept afloat for now in the U.S. is that we keep raising the debt ceiling. The globalists need the U.S. to spread its cultural imperialism or Marxist hegemony around the globe. But how long can you keep taking taking on more credit before it becomes a disaster for a society? But, we, blinded by our lust and greed, can't see the forest from the trees. Furthermore, women, stuck with having to do it all, corrupted by contraception and abortion, then selfishly as a group cut back on their childbearing, so that the birth rate for a society falls below replacement level. Soon, civilization is on an irreversable death spiral. If you don't believe me, see Japan where the average age of a Japanese person in 2050 will be 61 years old. That's the fundamental problem with socialism. If everybody tries to live off the dole,
If everybody tries to cheat the system for sex, love and marriage through contraception and abortion, then in the end, we're going to wind up like Ancient Rome.

I have to disagree with that a little bit. I think that the number one enemy of fatherhood is indeed feminism. Society is already quite promiscuous, as you pointed out-- but without so many incentives for women to break up their marriages, and without the dire threat of false allegations at their disposal, I think that many more families would be staying together.

About ancient Rome, they did have some problems that we fortunately don't, so I think there's hope. For example, their system of succession was so poor that for long stretches of their history, they were doomed to endless internal conflict. By the end of the third century, their brilliant, far-reaching economy had been ruined beyond all hope of repair, and that in combination with ever increasing pressure on their borders finally cracked them. (Except for in the east.)

Look at her comments "Women are 'forced' to work" and "women have to do it all." If I were you I would not pay too much attention to this person and her victimology.

1. Women have to work because they are grown people, and that's what adults do; work. Noone owes women anything.

2. The claim that women have to do it all is a myth. Anyone that looks at the world and how 99% of gender issues are focused solely on women while granting them tons of freebies daily knows your position is not only false but a blatant lie.

Mixing feminist victimology with a few logical statements doesn't work girls. Noone buys the whole "women are victims" bullshit anymore except morons.

Don't bother responding Kangaroox I'll just ignore your post.

agreed - not in and of itself. we have some deep ingrained problems resulting from entitlement mentality, a taught lack of respect for men, and a host of others. amfortus called it a many headed hydra. excellent snake-like analogy. it took hercules to slay that original monster. this may not be hercules; but, it just may be a killer pill (antibiotic) for the abortion, CS, and shotgun wedding rackets. but who can say honestly where this type sanity might spread and who/what gets thrown to the curb? my friend (non mRA) was just commenting on the baby daddy afternoon show biz quick death.

ya gotta have hope. and brothers, this is my planted seed (so to speak) soon to be a vineyard, orchard and giant bean stalk, all in one.

unless you got something better.

Feminism is a byproduct not the source. Women were manipulating men to do their will long before feminism was even thought of.

Just look at Kangaroox's post and see how women manipulate men by mixing their ideology with a few rational points in action. They did the same with history; revising it by inserting nonsense here and there and matching it up with actual dates and places.

Women have been running this job on men for hundreds of years. Now Matt lets them come here and continue their work under the fear of not wanting to be labelled a "misogynist." Men are weak and women know it. That's why they have been spanking men's asses for years. They know as soon as a man realizes his slave status and confronts them all they have to do is play the "not a zero sum game" card or the "not all women are like that" card and he backs off and lets them spread even more bullshit.

Wake the fuck up men, she has her manicured talons wrapped around your balls and she's squeezing.

It obviously is a zero sum game, or Mangum would be in prison now. Rape is prosecuted like murder while false accusations are given a pass, no matter how well proven. This isn't a zero sum game which men have lost?

"The claim that women have to do it all is a myth."

Well, if they have been "doing it all", you would expect to see some evidence in the awarding of Nobel Prizes, yes?

Sadly, here's the actual tally --

Female Nobel Prize laureates accounted for 34 out of a total of 789 prizes awarded from 1901-2006:

Chemistry – women awarded 3 of 149 prizes (2%)
Physics - women awarded 2 of 178 prizes (1.1%)
Medicine - women awarded 7 of 185 prizes (3.8%)
Literature - women awarded 10 of 103 prizes (9.7%)
Peace - women awarded 12 of 116 prizes (10.3%)
Economics - women awarded 0 of 58 prizes (0%)

TOTAL - women awarded 34 of 789 prizes (4.3%)

(Hmmmm, seems we have a gender composed primarily of wanton slackers on our hands?)
