RADAR ALERT: Agenda for VAWA Reform Defines Issues for 2008 Elections

Two weeks ago RADAR released an explosive new Special Report (.pdf file) that reveals domestic violence programs are usually ineffective, often unwanted, and sometimes harmful in reducing partner violence.

Today RADAR is releasing the Agenda for VAWA Reform, a blueprint for reforming the Violence Against Women Act. Although the focus of the Agenda is on VAWA, most of the problems also apply to state-level laws.

The Agenda for VAWA Reform is based on extensive research of the effects domestic violence laws, as well as recommendations from members of the VAWA Reform Coalition. The Agenda for VAWA Reform identifies 8 problem areas:

  1. VAWA programs have been ineffective in reducing partner abuse, and in some ways have placed victims at greater risk of violence.
  2. VAWA undermines basic notions of civil liberties and the presumption of innocence.
  3. VAWA programs have had a disproportionate negative effect on minority and low-income populations.
  4. VAWA undermines the family, escalates partner conflict, and discourages reconciliation.
  5. VAWA fosters sex-based discrimination.
  6. VAWA promotes half-truths, myths, and falsehoods about domestic violence.
  7. VAWA encourages immigration fraud.
  8. VAWA programs lack accountability and allow wasteful use of taxpayer dollars.

The complete Agenda can be seen here (.pdf file).

With the primary elections for the 2008 campaign starting in just two months, it is critical that the Agenda for VAWA Reform be shared with as many political candidates as possible.

We encourage persons to ask candidates their views on how they believe federal and state laws on domestic violence - which are now known to be ineffective and even harmful - can be improved so domestic violence can be curbed.

Nothing the feminists try to do is effective because their approaches aren't grounded in reality. Communism doesn't work and neither does feminism.

The RADAR analysis of the totally dysfunctional, unconstitutional, and illogical VAWA-funded domestic violence INDUSTRY is 100% correct.

Unfortunately, there is not a single political candidate who would be so foolish or courageous to take on this issue.

Get this -- you cannot take a stance against any women's issue and survive politically.

The feminazis will immediately mobilize like bacteria to invade and neutralize any pol who bucks the system.

This illustrates my main beef with RADAR.

It/they repeatedly advocate writing, calling, and e-mailing the very politicians who have sold men out time and time again...

to ask them to "please" behave differently?

This strategy is like politely asking Dracula to not bite you.

The outcome is predictable.

What can you accomplish if you don't use the political process?

#1 VAWA witch-hunts innocent men, because it is based on a hateful, cultural Marxist ideology.

The problems affecting females (caused by VAWA) pale in comparison to those affecting males.

This alert lacks that focus so I will not be participating in RADAR alerts until RADAR respects accuracy in accurately reporting domestic violence law corruption.
