Mary Winkler to do the Oprah Show

Yeah, it was predictable. The husband murderer was cleared by a hick judge to do the Oprah Show over the objections of her in-laws.

Lifetime Channel man hating movie of the month next for Bloody Mary? Sure, why not? Excerpt:

'A few hours after one Tennessee judge ruled that Mary Winkler could go on television and talk about why she killed her preacher husband, another denied her request to travel out of state to be on the show.
...
A press release issued earlier this month from "The Oprah Winfrey Show" promised that Winkler would open up about the abuse, reveal details from the day her husband died and explain why she has decided to speak up now.
...
After allowances for time served, Winkler spent about a week in county jail before being transferred to an unidentified mental health facility.'

One self loathing male judge approves the trip to do Oprah.

Another soons vacates that deal!

At least one male judge in that area seems to have a functioning brain stem!

This makes me SICK. I can not even BELIEVE the crap that is going on here. It just seems to be getting worse and worse every day. Even if one judge says she can not leave the state they will find another to over turn the ruling.

She has permission to be on the show, she does not have permission to leave the State to be on the show, solution camera crew and satellite uplink van goes to Mary's house so Oprah can put her up on the big screen behind where she sits and interview her live in front of her studio audience anyway. This gives the advantage of being able to stage Mary's living room to look warm and cozy and have Mary appear as innocent as a little lamb in the comfort of her own home.

I agree that it is the sickest shit I have heard in a long time but until the day America Stops worshiping the Giant Pussy Goddess and attending the church of feminism this shit will never end.

Here's how she got off, via the Battered Wife Syndrome legal defense....

Interesting that the legal premise states that "no other way" than murder was available to the "victims" i.e. homicidal females.

Maybe they could call a cab? Wait until the abusive hubby goes off to work and walk out of the house? Dial 911?

Oh no! The BWS defense says the ONLY recourse was to commit murder.

Because, not to, she would remain a "victim."

Feminist logic in the extreme ... now law.

(From Wikipedia) --

The courts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and United States have accepted the extensive and growing body of research showing that battered partners can use force to defend themselves and sometimes kill their abusers because of the abusive and sometimes life-threatening situation in which they find themselves, acting in the firm belief that there is no other way than to kill for self-preservation.

I happened to see the recorded interview the other day. They had an excellent person from Court TV in the audience to provide a counter point, not sure who she was, blonde woman.

But she happily pointed out that Mary Winkler made a number of decisions. She decided to wait until her husband was sleeping and vulnerable. She decided to use a shotgun, thus nearly ensuring physical superiority. She decided to unplug the phone so 911 couldn't be called, thus showing she WAS thinking about the consequences of her actions.

The Court TV woman also questioned what "forced me to have anal sex" meant. Was he threatening violence? Was he threatening to leave her? Was he threatening the kids? Was it just her perceiving intimindation where there may have been none.

She pointed out that in over 10 years of supposed abuse, there was NO corroborating evidence. No friends to testify, no police reports, no hospital records.

Finally, any woman capable of killing her husband, and leaving with the kids in the car, is capable of leaving with the kids, without killing her husband. If Mary Winkler had done this, she could have filed the appropriate polic reports, and as those of us on this site know, the courts would have helped her drag him through the mud.

But he'd be alive.

Had she not killed him, and just ran with the kids and screamed abuse, would he have survived the hell that the State would reign upon him? He would no longer be a minister, that's for sure, so his life's work would vanish in an instant - especially if she cried sexual abuse. The town's people would likely buy her account hook line and sinker and proceed to erect a witch burning pole in the center of town, and hunt him down with their torches and pitch forks.

He'd probably end up dead either way, whether she killed him - as she did, or some towns folks decided to kill him for her after she ran away and cried abuse, or if the weight of the full force of the State coming down upon him with their guilty until proven innocent DV laws caused him to kill him self.

No matter what, had she left and cried abuse, in a small town where he is a minister, the end result could have easily been the same as what she actually decided to do.

The problem is, that she didn't get away with it because the State decided that the law simply does not apply to her and condoned her actions instead. In order to 'get away with a crime' there must first actually be REAL consequences in place should you get caught. Women do not get away, they simply have no rules or laws to follow in the first place.
