He might as well as said "I'm not going to break the bond between an infant and his or her mother." That would have at least made him honest.

This is another example of why females should not have any authority. The judge is a female. She lacks the intellect and analytical frame work to understand the concept of justice.

The thing that makes this case interesting is this family is the shining beacon of the double standard as the mother has two sons, on who is 23 and serving 4 1/2 years in FEDERAL prison for having consensual sex with a 15 year old resulting in a teen pregnancy. Since the article claims he is 23 now, he must have been at least a couple years younger when the 'crime' occurred as justice takes a long ass time to work it's way from arrest to sentencing, to post sentencing. Her other son is 14 and had consensual sex with a 24 year old woman resulting in an adult alcoholic woman getting pregnant who gets less then 2 years PROBATION. I don't know about you, but I would not consider probation equal to time in a federal penitentiary on a day for day basis, so to say the young man got more then double the sentence of the young woman would certainly be a drastic understatement.

Granted, I do not think either situation should be a crime as a teenager is not a child and I believe are capable of making up their own minds about what to do with their bodies. The problem in both cases seems to be the pregnancies. I certainly do not mean to imply that teen pregnancy is an easy issue and that when one is a teenager they know who they want to spend their lives with or even what they want out of life for themselves. Having a child young is certainly a difficult thing but it should not be the courts who are the decider's of how that situation should be handled.

Another double standard this family illustrates is the fact that only one of these cases will be counted as a teen pregnancy. The 14 year old boy will not be counted as having created a son until he turns 18 when she can take him to court for child support.

The thing is he is every bit a father as the 15 year old girl is a mother. If we start counting teen boys as fathers in teen pregnancy statistics it would allow for a clearer picture to emerge of adult women who are engaging in sex with teen boys thus revealing the other half of the problem and exposing glaring double standards like this for the bullshit they are because they simply do not hold up to the "it's mostly men wanting young girls that is the problem" excuse used to perpetuate the double standards when one starts to look more closely at female behavior.

I am so fucking glad this woman wasn't the boys teacher though. We really need to stop assuming that it is solely and exclusively female teachers who are seeking out young boys as human sex toys. The thing is, if this woman would not have gotten pregnant (likely by her own choosing as 99% of all birth control options available are exclusively available to women), this would never have been reported as a crime. Just as in any case of teen sex, parents only find out when something like pregnancy happens as teens of both genders tend not to report their sexual activities to their parents.

It's not intimidation on the part of the evil perpetrating male that keeps sexual assault an under reported crime, it's the fact that many people who've technically been sexually assaulted according to the letter of the law do not feel they were assaulted at all.

This is certainly an interesting case as it exposes many multi-layered lies and hypocrisies in our culture.

I wish this family well in their fight for equality even if I disagree with their goals of further sanctions and criminalization. They are a courageous and strong family to stand up and expose the lies and hypocritical double standards our society imposes mostly on males.

I don't care what official numbers will say either, that 14 year old boy is every bit as much a teen pregnancy as the 15 year old girl who is his nieces mother.

The problem here is not primarily factor in the outcome of the two cases this same family has been involved in. You can argue all day that it is a factor, and you may be correct that it one factor at play, but the primary problem is the ingrained bias in the justice system. Regardless of the gender of the judge, women get off extremely easy.

Plus, the fact that this case is standard fare - as in another woman gets a free pass when convicted of the exact same crime a man in the very same county gets 4 1/2 years in federal prison for. That's what is to be expected in the current justice system. A woman getting prison is interesting because it's the extremely rare exception.

This case is interesting because it there is two cases involving the same family. One the boy is the victim, one the boy is the perpetrator. It's rare to get such a clear example of the judicial bias then the ordeals this family has gone through. Two cases, exact same county, exact same crime, completely different outcomes.

Plus it highlights the hypocrisies in other areas such as teen pregnancy statistic which are used to a reason to create discriminatory laws against young men. teen BOYS who have children with adult women are not counted in the teen pregnancy numbers. This is sexist, as this boy can easily be forced to be a father (or at least pay like he is) when he turns 18. His responsibility for that child is no more optional then a teen girl who does not believe in abortion or adoption, so he should absolutely be counted.

As I explained above, counting boys would also have the added bonus of exposing more women who are every bit as guilty when it comes to having sex with young people as men are. This in turn would change the discussion from "fucking evil men raping our daughters, let's burn them" to something more rational like - lets make sure out kids are educated and understand that sex is fun and it feels nice but if you engage in it you have to take precautions because creating a life should not be an accident.

No one should be in prison or convicted of any crime in either of these two cases, all the sex here was consensual. That's the other problem here - why the fuck are we criminalizing consensual sex in the first place? It does not matter what anyone says about the evils of sex or teen sex or whatnot, people of pretty well all ages are going to engadge in various forms of sexual activities.

But it would seem that a lack of education and understanding has resulted in two children being brought into this world by people who are either not prepared to care for them or not able to - as I have my doubts about how well a 24 year old admitted alcoholic female can care for a child. I know that no matter how much we educate people about the options available and the risks of not using them mistakes will still happen. But criminalization and imprisonment for accidentally creating a life is not helping to deal with those mistakes. The fact is the mistakes are human children who need to be brought up in a loving way and have a meaningful connection with both their parents, not on welfare with mom while dads in prison.

I do not think these kids should be societies problem, that's shy I am 100% for the creation of th male pill and all forms of birth control. People are not going to stop having sex so we need to stop saying that sex is the problem and start getting the message out there that you need to take precautions when having sex so that you do not end up in a situation you did not want. But putting people men in prison for consensual sex certainly isn't a step towards solving any problems - it just makes more for absolutely no valid reason. How is that 23 year old guy gonna be a father to his child when he gets out of prison a convicted criminal and his picture is on his State and the National sex offender registries. How does that help his son?

I think you are underestimating the influence of feminism in this society. Yes, some male judges will give a female a lighter sentence because she is a female, but this is indicative of a society that demonizes men and worships “cunts”. This “cunt worshiping” can be traced back to witchcraft and to some extent, the old English Victorian era. The English brought over their “cunt worshiping attitude” aspect of their society and we are currently having a difficult time curing this cancer. As a matter of fact, it is spreading. What you need to understand is that the ‘demonization’ of men is coming from feminism. This is their strongest weapon, and it is shaping the attitudes of both males and females in this society.

They are ideologically closed minded. There is no point saying one word to them as nothing said by anyone will ever change their point of view.

And in case you didn't get that comment, or my second comment on the same, I am 100% all for the 23 year old man being released from prison, having his record completely expunged, and him allowed to be a father to his son. The girl was 15 not 5.

When I was 19 I had a 15 year old girlfriend and we had lots and lot and lots of sex and she enjoyed it very much. So much so that we were together for 8 years, lived together and were engaged when she turned 21. She left when I was falsely charged with rape because she couldn't handle the stress of the situation and she couldn't deal with the strict restrictions I had imposed on men when I was on bail.

Feminists don't want men to have any rights sexually. There's no point talking to them about it.

If you read my other comments on this post I proposed different ways of handling the teen pregnancy issue. Here's another one.

If the problem is that teen girls are not able to properly provide for a child which seems to be one of the issues. Then I propose taking the judges idea from the case involving the 24 year old woman even when the adult involved is male.

She said she didn't send the woman to jail so she could care for her child and not to break the bond between them. Well, then I propose the 23 year old brother of the young lad who was involved with the 24 year old alcoholic woman be given the same courtesy. He should be given custody as he is in a better position to care for and provide for his son.

Automatic custody to the person who is legally an adult would serve several beneficial purposes.

One, the State would not have to provide for the products of teen pregnancy. The younger should be made to pay child support when they are 18 even of the younger party is female. As it stands right now, that 24 year old alcoholic woman will be able to sue for child support when her 14 year old sex toy turns 18 so why not the other way around? Equality and all that.

Plus, if feminists are to be believed, it is men who are sexually irresponsible (I don't buy it for a second but it might help to play along in order to sell the idea to legislators). If instead of the threat of prison - which isn't working anyway - for adult males who engage in sex with teens, there was the threat of automatic custody if a child results from the union then us 'irresponsible' men would in theory be equally deterred.

In practice however, I would wager that it would be teen girls who would be deterred from engaging in sexual activity. Teen girls often engage in sex because they want a baby thinking that they will get a little doll to play with and free money and housing to care for their little doll. If they knew that they couldn't seduce a 23 year old guy to get a baby so they could get their own apartment and not have to put up with the parents rules but could still dump the kid on them when she wants to party, they'd think twice. If they knew that if they had a kid with an adult male he'd automatically get the kid as he's legally an adult and in a better position to provide for it, we'd see far fewer little angels looking to screw every man they meet when they sneak into clubs on the weekend.

Plus, this would not be bad for children if studies showing that men have hardwired parental instincts just as women do become the accepted scientific belief. If fathers have equal parental rights, then they should have equal occasions where they get custody.

The judge thinks - and society agrees with her because of the way they count teen pregnancy stats - that it's not a problem for a 24 year old woman to get pregnant by a 14 year old boy because an alcoholic 24 year old woman can support and care for a kid in her view. Well, if a 24 year old alcoholic woman can, so can a 23 year old male. So instead of a State of welfare moms, you'd get more kids in homes with working dads as men do not like to resort to welfare and are more socially pressured to work.

See there are other solutions to the teen pregnancy issue.

Of course teaching kids to be safe instead of simply abstinent for fear of fire and brimstone is definitely the place to start.
