Currently child support is structured as a fine that has to be paid to the court. And if you visit a court of equity, you'll find both men and women with incredible child support judgments, well beyond their means to pay.

Artificial wombs won't do anything to address this problem.

And then there would be the question of whom to sue. If human sperm is used, the donor will end up footing the bill, artificial womb or not. So you need to work on artificial sperm, after you perfect the artificial womb.

You incorrectly consider AW as just a small improvement to the current situation with child support and upbringing. I once left a men's rights organization after being subjected to rather hostile abuse for expressing a more tempered opinion than some members were willing to concede. One reason for leaving in that case was that I didn't feel like paying for hostility on a moderated list. Granted that I signed on to a mailing list where there might be a spectrum of opinion, open hostility is another matter altogether. The moderator wasn't doing his job.
