It seems that some women will never give up on the idea that they're victims, no matter how heavily things might tilt in their favor. This person is a wealthy, well-known actress. A rich, white, American woman living in a female-dominated (women are the majority of the population) society where women have always held the real power thanks to our biologically inherited paternalism. Men just happen to be a convenient target. A century ago, it would have been black people who were victimizing her. A few centuries before that, she would have been the one pointing her finger at neighbors and yelling "witch". Before that, it would have been the Jewish folk who were to blame for "victimizing" her and her precious little offspring.

To such women, 100% female representation in any arena still means patriarchal oppression and victim status for every woman within screeching distance. These relatively rare and sadly delusional idiots are lost causes - the media only prints their ravings to sell consumer goods to those foolish enough to agree with them. Don't worry, when everyone has tuned out because every last male character, hero and leader in TV and the movies has been replaced with a politically correct, misandric woman and nobody's watching much TV anymore because the only sports available are women's sports that nobody gives a rat's ass about, Geena will come up with some other reason why she and every other woman in the western world are victims of the big, bad men.

Notice that she correctly identifies how poorly male characters are portrayed across all media analyzed, but dissects the media to find an imbalance for females. And that imbalance is one of glorification for females...

As someone that has a young son, I can tell you that it can be really difficult trying to find programming that highlights a boy's perspective as normal and healthy and doesn't leave him thinking that girls are the default/normal or even better sex. Even those dumb fillers that stations put on instead of commercials tend to have all female casts, or throw in a dufus male for good measure.

It's true that in some programming there can be more male than female characters; but if most of those characters are idiots while most of the female characters are intelligent and achieving their goals, then who's really getting the worst message?
