India: 17-year-old girl jailed for false rape accusation

Story here.

I guess four months in prison will help this man put his life back together???? Excerpt:

"A teenage girl, whose false accusation of rape led an Asian taxi driver to lose his job and sell his home, has been sentenced to four months imprisonment by a British court.

The 17-year-old claimed ex-police personnel Aftab Ahmed, who hails from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, attacked her in January last when she was driven home drunk after a night out.

She kept up the story for 14 months, during which Aftab lost his livelihood, had to sell his home and was shunned by friends."

India is a hotbed of misandry. The East Indians want to be like the westerners so bad that they adopt any and every moronic social movement/law that we have. Indian women are especially bad as they go to great lengths to look and act just like westerners(See the article on Indian men wanting a MEN'S DAY. The so-called "reporter" sounds liking a radical raving lunatic as opposed to a non-biased professional.). The sad thing is they seem to always mimic the negative portion of western culture.

At least she got SOME prison time. Any punishment these days is welcome.

Making a false rape accusation IS RAPE!

And should be viewed and punished as such.

..when a man is falsely accused of rape he is made powerless, he becomes hated, and he is victimized not only by the woman but by the entire country.

...that the man's name is immediately smeared all over television newscasts, newspapers and the Internet while the accuser (false or genuine) gets to hide behind anonymity and rape-shield laws. It's complete nonsense.

Yes, we need to be sure that women who really are sexually assaulted are able to report the crimes and see justice, but that need does NOT give the courts or the government the right to eradicate the rights of the accused, simply because the accused happens to be a man! Given that 40-50% of rape accusations are lies, why aren't men being afforded protection of their identity while the accusation is investigated? Doing so wouldn't harm anyone, and it would at least offer accused men some protection until a case was concluded.
