Story here. One to watch. Excerpt:

'NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey (AP) -- The former lover of a woman accused of killing her husband and stuffing his remains into luggage testified Wednesday that they had both planned to leave their spouses and start a life together.
...
She is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of her husband, a 39-year-old state computer analyst.
...
Prosecutors allege that McGuire used the Internet to research gun laws, pesticides and ways to kill. They say her husband was drugged with a sedative, shot in the head and chest, cut into pieces in the couple's apartment and then put into three suitcases that were thrown into the bay.'

With divorce laws and the courts the way they are, why in the world would any woman want to kill an unwanted husband rather than divorce him?

Does this woman know how to read? Doesn't she understand English?

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

I'm sure we'll hear more about this in the coming weeks but I'd have to guess that *if* she did it - and let's be fair, there is a possibility she didn't do it, that it might have been for insurance money.

Typically there is some basic insurance coverage even if only through the workplace. That would certainly help with 'starting a new life together' with someone else.

But again, it should be interesting. Let's not fall into the same hypocritical trap as those who rushed to judgement on the Duke case - innocent until proven guilty but it sounds like there may be some pretty damning evidence.
