Texas Mother Who Buried Infants Under House Charged With Murder

"The mother of two young children whose decomposing bodies were found wrapped in plastic bags beneath a house this week was arrested Saturday and charged with capital murder.

Valerie Lopez, 19, was arrested early Saturday along with her boyfriend, authorities said.

Lopez confessed to beating to death Sariyah Garcia, her 18-month-old daughter, and hiding her body beneath her home, Police Chief William McManus said. Sariyah died Christmas Eve."

"The boyfriend, Jerry Salazar, faces a charge of injury to a child by omission. He was aware Lopez was abusing her children"

I wouldn't be surprised if he receives a longer prison sentence than the mother.

She will in all likelihood beat the rap and get off by playing the "not guilty by reason of insanity" card that plays very well in Texas; of course only when women play it. In addition, she may have an "abuse excuse" card to play also. So she is sitting pretty.

All these recent child murders happened in Texas.

FOUND NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY.

DENA SCHLOSSER

IN 2004 MURDERED 14 MONTH OLD INFANT BY CUTTING OFF ITS ARMS WITH A BUTCHER’S KNIFE. CHILD BLED TO DEATH.
FOUND NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY.

IN 2001 ANDREA YATES MURDERED 5 CHILDREN BY DROWNING THEM IN A BATHTUB; SEE LIZA DIAZ. INITIALLY CONVICTED OF MURDER BUT LATER RETRIED AND FOUND NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY. HER NEW ROOMMATE IS DENA SCHLOSSER.
