Serious Achievement Gap in Maine's Schools

Return of the King writes "In an about-face from decades ago, boys' grades lag behind those of girls, and boys go to college in far fewer numbers than they did even 20 years ago while female enrollment has skyrocketed. In Part One of a four-part series that outlines the plight of boys in education, the reporters fail to point out that decades of one sided sexist advocacy favoring girls alone from a federal level on down IS the reason for the failure of boys in school. Women's advocates say pay equity should be a higher priority than boys' lagging achievement while 38% of Maine undergraduates are male and they drop out of school in higher numbers as well..."
