Have a read, and listen to the report either by clicking the "Listen" link on the page or you can use use this link. Windows Media Player worked for me.

Hmm, I listened to this story. The story was not
openly misandric and so I have a hard time wondering
that MANN readers will have much to say about it when
they hear it. There's far more openly misandric stuff
out there that gets and rightly so a lot of attention
from MANN.

I think the phrase "the end of men" is more of a
commentary on the state of society. Manhood as a
defined thing seems to have been eliminated. Rather
than the social role emphasized the biological role
has been emphasized for the sexes. This perhaps to
some degree explains why "guy" and "male" have
replaced "man" in much conversation and writing, as
manhood is not needed for reproduction but maleness
is. I also think it's both a mechanism and symptom of
the diminution/decrease of respect for men in general;
in the mean time, the use of "woman" versus
"female/gal/girl" has been vaunted and asserted so
that it is used all the time, and even to describe,
laughably, adolescent girls ("the rights of this
15-year old woman can't be denied!" and other
ridiculous stuff like that). And there is no
mistaking or ignoring the shift from "men and women"
to "women and guys" in conversation. "Ladies first"
has become "Women (wymyn) first," in particular when
referring to the sexes as two groups in the same
sentence. So the end of men is really more of a
contemporary social and political phenomenon rather
than a biological one.

I rather think humanity will have died off for other
reasons long before Y chromosomal breakdown destroys
it.
