'The changes that have happened to Western culture since feminism and the sexual revolution have produced a large number of women in search of a value system that will explain their anxiety and despair. It is now the function of feminism, for all its errors, lies, and simplifications, to provide this explanation, and furthermore, as regards the so-called patriarchy, to give righteous vent to the will to punish that is so significant to the sufferer. And indeed, this works. For that’s the thing about a value system. It does not have to be true, or good, or wise. All it has to do is to give people what they believe they need.

Feminism is really a kind of status envy, which desperately tries to compensate for the deep loss of value mankind has suffered since the decline of religion, the family, culture, and work. Feminism therefore deceives women into thinking that they need to be the same as men: if they are not as accomplished as men in the workplace, then they are not “equal.” Since, moreover, equality of outcome is a kind of religious dogma, it follows that lack of gender parity signifies sexism by definition. But men and women having, as research shows, different aptitudes and interests, the elysian goal is never achieved. Rather, in a palpable injustice, more and more women get jobs because they are women. And so, as Heather Mac Donald has deftly shown in her “#MedicorityToo,” the culture shall likely be leveled down even more.'

... if by that you mean it has met its aims. Making women "happy" was never one of its aims. One of the 2nd wave aims was to get as many women as possible out of the house and into jobs. Today, women outnumber men in the US job market. It has succeeded in that regard very well.

Dragging women into the workplace kicking and screaming was one thing feminism sought openly to do.

But not every woman needed to be dragged kicking and screaming. Many pushed hard to get into jobs and succeeded.

My own take is there's nothing wrong with this per se. What's wrong is when miss modern woman still expects her bf/date/hubby to pay for everything even if she outearns him. This is simple hooker-hood, prostitution. But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Back in the Domestic Goddess days, miss not-so-modern woman was still renting her vagina out to husbands/boyfriends/dates. In fact miss pre-modern woman did too as did miss Paleolithic Woman. Women have been whoring out for time immemorial and that hasn't changed a lick.

Just now, they also have day jobs. After work, they turn tricks per the usual. Their client list may be short, or long, but the idea hasn't changed much. Pay if you want some puuuusssyyyyy.

The same woman who complains about being asked to make coffee still expects the man to pay for the privilege of dating her.

Women don't like it when men have expectations about women, but women still expect and demand men fulfill women's expectations about men.
