Democrats Introduce Bill That Would Make Title IX Guidelines Law

Article here. Excerpt:

'A group of Democratic congresspeople unveiled legislation at a press conference in Washington, D.C. on Thursday afternoon that would protect Title IX after recent rollbacks by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

The new legislation, named the Title IX Protection Act, codifies into law three Title IX guidances that were created under the Obama, George W. Bush and Clinton administrations. These guidances ― the 2014 Questions and Answers on Title IX document, the 2011 Dear Colleague Letter and the 2001 Guidance on Title IX (issued by Clinton and later re-issued by Bush) ― were used as comprehensive guidelines to help all parties involved in sexual assault cases navigate the reporting process.

“The Title IX Protection Act is very important because Secretary DeVos’ decision to roll back vital protections for victims of campus sexual assault is an alarming reminder of the White House’ dismissive and cruel attitude towards survivors and students,” Rep. Pelosi said during the press conference.'

Holy crow...

Time to toss it in, Nan. On a good day you can remember your own date of birth. Not to be harshing on you over a disability, darling. We all get there some time and really, it isn't your fault. Still, most of us are at least considerate enough of others to know when it's time to call it and return to camp to rest on our laurels. You and Hillary however are birds of a feather in this regard.

Go hang with your grandchildren or something. Go have some fun in life in the time you have left. As each moment passes, each following moment is that much more valuable. If Abbie Hoffman was right when he said it's better to suck and fuck than to waste your youth on political ideology, how much more true must it be when you've crested 75?

At 70, I plan on checking out myself. No more news or politics or any such horesehit distractions. I'm going to spend all my time NOT working and taking care of cats. And I am sooo looking forward.
