UK may get women-only train carriages

'Two months after Sao Paolo’s city authorities approved a bill enforcing women-only carriages on the city’s metro network, a transport minister has said that similar measures may be needed in the UK.

Claire Perry, speaking at the Conservative party conference in Birmingham yesterday, said she is “absolutely determined” to cut the number sexual offences on public transport, and that women-only carriages could be a way to prevent “groping and low-level violence”.

Segregated carriages currently operate in India, Russia, Indonesia and Japan, where transport police have seen a drop in incidents since they were introduced. SheTaxi, a woman-only taxi company, also launched in New York this month.

Perry said she’s also considered other “wacky ideas”, like banning repeat offenders from public transport permanently in a “three strikes” system. For all the practical barriers, that might be less wacky than removing women from mixed carriages for their own safety.'

Talk about a rad idea! Prosecute criminals but don't assume anyone with the same secondary sex characteristics* as said criminals are automatically suspicious. There's a novel idea!

If black people (or white ppl, for that matter) commit a disproportionate number of crimes in a particular venue, is the remedy to ban all such people from that venue? Or is it not better to arrest, prosecute, and jail the individual perps? To many, it might be. But not to anyone who has an axe to grind.

*Guess F2M transsexuals have to accept that despite having a vajayjay, they'll have to suffer the indignity of being herded with all the other cattle/men onto *gasp* co-ed subway cars. Wonder if there'd be a special pass program allowing such folks to board the females-only trains, given that despite their man-level quantities of testosterone giving them growable beards and deep voices, their possession of Vs makes them categorically harmless to women, just like anyone else with a V.

If you put them on a train with women, they'll grope the women.

If you put them on a train with men, they'll grope the men.

If you put them in a special car for bisexuals, they'll grope each other.

Assuming, of course, that bisexuals grope other passengers.

Only heterosexual men can be guilty of offenses like groping or sexual harassment. Bisexual men and women can't be. In fact, they can't ever be guilty of any kind of sex crime, esp. bi females. By definition. It's in my WST 101 textbook on page 207. Honest.

That's what you get for taking WST 101. It mucks with your mind and your ability to think logically.

Aristotle introduced logic as a means of deciding whether something is true, combined the use of empirical evidence.

WS thinks this is nonsense. They introduced a new way of determining truth: Does it please a woman. If it pleases a woman, it's true. If it doesn't please a woman, it's false. If it pleases some women but not others, the truth of the matter cannot be determined.
