College kicks part of male student population off campus in response to sexual assault concerns

Story here. Excerpt:

'As of Monday, September 22, 2014, only female ELS [English language classes for foreign students] participants will be permitted to reside in campus housing," Lorisa Lorenzo, Eckerd's associate dean for student life, wrote in an email sent Wednesday to all students.

The sudden policy shift, undertaken by Eckerd and acceded to by ELS, follows a tumultuous August. Authorities last month dealt with violations ranging from alcohol and catcalls to two allegations of sexual assault reported by female Eckerd students.

It is unclear whether either alleged attacker has been identified. Nonetheless, all four male ELS students on the campus have moved into homes or nearby hotels.

The ban also affects future ELS students and runs indefinitely, or at least until Eckerd and ELS administrators can work out an agreement that could allow male ELS students to return to a dormitory. The new policy also imposes an 8 p.m. curfew on the 42 ELS students now living off the campus, male or female, by which they must have left the property.

"The problem is one or two of the men. It's not all the men," said Mariadelcarmen Jimenez, 27, of Paraguay, who has lived on the campus while studying at ELS for seven months. "Eckerd and ELS students have the same problem about drinking and drugs. The students at Eckerd don't move. But the students at ELS move."

Out of 4 men, 2 are behaving like a$$holes. Their identities as individuals is undoubtedly known, but instead of dealing with the 2 malefactors and respecting the individuality of the 2 guys that are not acting like douchebags, they decide to tar all 4 men with the same brush. Easy enough to do, since few ppl, if any, seem ready on college campuses these days to stand up for basic human rights, as long as those humans are male.

They're starting with a category of men they believe no one will complain about if fair treatment of them is vacated: foreign guys. The population is small, too -- just 4. This is the test case to see what the campus will tolerate. Once the dust settles, men on the main campus will have their freedom of movement curtailed by bits until eventually they won't be allowed to live on campus. Maybe the college will build apts. to keep the rental income heading to them, but rejoice!, men not living on campus and of course not allowed on it after some hour.

The feminists' goal is of course to eventually eliminate men entirely from higher ed. Looks like that day is fast approaching.

...but, isn't this a clear violation of Title IX? Not that anyone will care, even if it is.

... yes. But you're right, no one cares. At least not anyone in a position to sanction the college.
