Mother Kills Child, Father Charged with Murder

Anonymous User sent in this Boston Globe story about some recent cases where a child on life support is taken off of it by the mother, after realizing that the father had been abusing the child. The idea being that the child is better off dead than continuing to be abused. What strikes me as unfair here is that the father is then charged with murder, and the mother is not. If he was abusing the child, charge him with child abuse, but murder? Murder was the woman's choice, and she should be accountable for it.
