The “divorce glow-up” is a TikTok trend where midlife women post impressive before-and-after divorce videos of themselves – usually fitter, more fashionable, and seemingly happier. The thinking being that your husband is holding you back from your best self. Maybe it’s my algorithm, but I am constantly encouraged to kick my husband out, and start anew.

Now I don’t want to dump on Gen X men, because there’s enough of that already, but having observed female friends who’ve recently divorced, there are certainly common triggers. A big one? Men that refuse to change while their wives are constantly looking for ways to grow.

MacAusland, like Clancy, is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the strangling deaths of her children: Kai, 7, and Ella, 6.

Police say MacAusland admitted to the slayings after arriving at a relative’s home in Vermont, telling her aunt, “I wanted the 3 of us to go to God together, but it didn’t work.”

MacAusland subsequently told police, “I strangled them and then I tried to kill myself,” according to a police report.

'A trans woman has been jailed after lying about being raped by multiple men.

Khloe Simmonds, 26, wasted hundreds of hours of police time on false allegations and several men were detained before later being released.

At one point, Simmonds was responsible for 2.5% of all rape and serious sexual assault allegations in Harrow, northwest London.

She was sentenced on Monday to seven-and-a-half years in prison for eight counts of perverting the course of justice.

The judge at Harrow Crown Court said it wasn't a one-off but a "sustained pattern of conduct" between July 2018 and January 2026.'

This past week, the media carried chilling accounts of mothers who murdered their children:

Kailey Erhart: Last Monday, newspapers reported on the August 6 attack of Erhart on her three children. “Say goodbye to your kids,” the woman said to her husband shortly before stabbing them. Two of the children died. A third child, Colton, survived.

Laken Snelling: On August 27th, 2025, police responded to a report of a dead baby boy. Snelling later admitted that she had deprived her newborn of oxygen, placed him in a black plastic bag, and disposed of the bag in the bedroom closet. This past Friday, Laken Snelling pled guilty to killing her newborn son.

'Who runs the world—or the U.S. labor market—in August? Girls.

Women accounted for almost every job added to the U.S. economy in August, an extraordinary statistic within a jobs report full of surprises.

The economy added 162,000 jobs last month, nearly triple most economists’ projections of around 55,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Of those gains, women accounted for 158,000 of them, roughly 98% of the net increase in payroll employment.

Men, by comparison, gained only about 4,000 jobs.

Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union, cautioned against reading too much into the gender split of one month, calling it “noisy.”

“I think there’s been way too much focus on the month to month—is it men gaining jobs or women?” Long told Fortune. “That moves around a lot.”'
