'Mr Munroe said it had been a tough week for everyone working in child care, but male educators in particular.
And some advocates have said exactly that and called for men to be banned from the profession.
Mr Munroe said he was worried about other men in the field, especially those at high school thinking about a career in child care, part-way through training, or those working in less supported centres.
He is now looking at ways to support the "many good male educators out there".
"I'm thinking about … maybe opening a support group for male educators, just to let them know that there are a lot of really good ones out there."'

'Louise Edmonds, a founding member of the Independent Collective of Survivors, spoke with Karl Stefanovic on the Today show on Thursday morning, advocating for a complete ban on male workers in the childcare sector.
'Look, it is extreme for one. But the thing is, we're now seeing this is the third case of huge amounts of children being exposed to alleged paedophiles and alleged child sex abuses in a childcare centre,' Ms Edmonds said.
'What we're seeing is that less than eight per cent of (workers) actually in the industry (are male).'
Stefanovic pushed back, highlighting the challenges already faced by men in the sector.
'Men have a right to work in that area. And so many of them are dedicated,' Stefanovic said.
'The perception is already hard enough for them. And when a story like this happens, it makes it even more difficult for them.'
Ms Edmonds argued while there are 'good men' that want to be positive role models, the safety of children must come before concerns about gender equality.

'The Hare family, devout Christians who ran a farm in Texas, describe themselves as a family of “moral migrants” and have emerged as the face of a small but growing trend of Westerners relocating to Russia in search of the traditional, conservative values they feel are eroding in the liberal West. Their journey reflects the ideological narrative Putin has spent years crafting: Russia as the guardian of family-centered traditions amid a Western world spiraling into moral and social decay.
...
In 2019, an Australian family — coincidentally sharing the surname Hare — relocated to Russia in protest over the legalization of same-sex marriage in their home country. They established a farm in Altai, a scenic region in southern Siberia, and run a popular video blog about their life that was prominently featured in RT and other state media coverage.

'Male educators will reportedly no longer be involved in changing nappies or toileting duties at a string of Victorian childcare centres.
Inspire Early Learning – which operates 16 childcare centres in the state – sent a letter to parents on Friday announcing the changes, as per 7News.
Chief curriculum and quality officer Eleinna Anderson told families the changes were to ensure they remained “sensitive and responsive to family needs”, and that male staff would still play a “vital role” in activities and classroom preparation among other duties.'

'I’ve grown accustomed to hearing politicians talk about men’s health, usually focusing on the idea that men need to stop taking risks and start going to the doctor. The implication is that it’s somehow men’s fault that they’re at risk of dying early, and so on. Of course, this is what feminists often refer to as "blaming the victim."
That’s why I was so pleased to read Donald Trump’s message for National Men’s Health Week. He spoke candidly about the disadvantages men face and the ways in which men and masculinity have been targeted by a vicious campaign. It was a breath of fresh air.
No matter how you feel about Donald Trump, you have to give him credit for calling out the reality of men’s issues in today’s world. Below, I’ll paste the entire message for you to read. It’s a step in the right direction.'

'The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Men (CEDAM) is a bold and comprehensive manifesto advocating for global recognition of men’s rights. Modeled on the UN’s CEDAW* treaty, this book introduces CEDAM an international framework that identifies and challenges 46 key areas where men and boys face discrimination. Backed by detailed examples, essays, and personal reflections, Augustsson’s work calls for true gender equality by addressing often overlooked issues like conscription, genital integrity, fatherhood rights, educational disparities, and societal biases.'

'Men who engage in the online “manosphere” and the content of Andrew Tate are often able to express a “strong commitment to equal treatment and fairness”, according to research commissioned by Ofcom.
Prompted by growing concerns about internet misogyny, researchers for the UK communications regulator followed the journeys of dozens of men through online content ranging from the US podcaster Joe Rogan to forums for “incels” (involuntary celibates). They found that while a minority encountered “extremely misogynistic content”, many users of the manosphere were critically engaged, selective and capable of discarding messages that did not resonate with their values.

'Katrine and other female soldiers, all of whom spoke to The Associated Press on June 11 on the condition that only their first names be used because of operational security, volunteered for military service earlier this year. Until now, that was the only way women were allowed to partake in military service, although women have been able to enlist as full-time members of the armed forces since the early 1970s.
The Scandinavian country is seeking to increase the number of young people in the military by extending compulsory enlistment to women for the first time. Men and women can both still volunteer, and the remaining places will be filled by a gender-neutral draft lottery.'

'By now, most of us have heard the term “brainwashing.” It usually brings to mind Cold War images of broken POWs or disturbing cult documentaries. But what if the most pervasive forms of psychological manipulation aren’t hidden in bunkers or religious compounds — but embedded in mainstream institutions that claim to promote justice?
Psychiatrist Robert Jay Lifton, who studied Communist reeducation camps in Maoist China, laid out the classic framework for understanding brainwashing. In his landmark work, Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism, Lifton identified eight core mechanisms that coercive systems use to break down and reshape the self.
At the heart of it? A psychological attack on your identity — followed by shame, blame, and the expectation that you publicly confess and “rebuild” yourself according to the group’s ideology.
Sound familiar?'

'It probably comes as no surprise in this day and age that there exists a place called the “Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice” at Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
The institute claims jazz “remains predominantly male due to a biased system,” which “impos[es] a significant toll on those who aspire to work in it.”
So its main page asks right under the title banner “What would jazz sound like in a culture without patriarchy?”
A recent study by the institute appears to confirm the assertion as it shows “male-identified jazz educators” outnumber “female-identified counterparts” by six to one. The latter group comprises just eight percent of instrumental jazz instructors, and only 15 percent of all jazz faculty.'

'Recently, a trans man opened up about the “culture shock” of navigating male loneliness, and shared how, if they had been forced to grow up with the often insidious messaging boys and men receive, it would have really damaged their psyche.
In a Reddit post, the man first got candid about the “social isolation” that comes from constantly being perceived as a "potential predator.”
While he noted that “all strangers, no matter their gender, keep their guard up around me,” women in particular came across as “incredibly aloof, cold, and mirthless." He did add the disclaimer that, as someone who used to have to protect themselves in the same way, they understood where the “armor” was coming from (“women aren’t just being needlessly guard[ed]”). But, for those who had never experienced life as a woman, he could easily see how this type of behavior could be viewed as “a conspiracy" against the other sex.'

'From the very first day of training, I sensed that I was unwelcome. The discomfort was immediate. I recall walking into a room and being met with expressions of unease—subtle, yet unmistakable. Despite my efforts to introduce myself and initiate conversations, it took over twenty minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. It felt as though I had been relegated to the margins before I’d even had a chance to participate. I felt invisible—discarded onto the proverbial muck heap.

'It’s a saying that provokes strong reactions: “Mothers raise children; fathers raise adults.”
At first glance, it seems to box parents into rigid roles. But when you dig into decades of family psychology and cross-cultural research, you find something profound: fathers, in particular, have a special knack for cultivating traits that help children not just survive, but thrive in the unpredictable, sometimes harsh realities of adult life.
One of the most powerful of these traits is resilience — the ability to recover from setbacks, navigate stress, and adapt to challenges without falling apart. When we look at how fathers tend to interact with their children, a consistent theme emerges: they build resilience in ways that complement the secure base mothers provide.'
