Belief.net author covers "women's spirituality"

An interesting commentary indeed and one you are not likely to see in mainstream press. She must be getting inundated with hate-e-mails!

Tennessee May Use GPS on Parolees

mens_issues writes "A chilling story, particularly toward the end where TN considers using GPS devices on "those convicted of domestic violence or behind in child support payments." Do I hear George Orwell somewhere? 1984 was just off by a couple of decades.

Curiously, I found this at Space.com, a place I go on the internet to get away from this kind of stuff:

Lewd and Lavicious Behavior

frank h writes "This article describes a complaint made about a senior Republican FEMALE in the White House drug policy office who is a possible candidate for the US Senate (Republican) from Illinois. She thinks it's all behind her and it ought to be forgotten. It so happens she's looking to take the candidacy that was recently vacated by one Jack Ryan, who had his divorce records unsealed by the Chicago Tribune. You remember Ryan? The one who allegedly asked his model/actress/wife for public sex at a swingers club? Waddaya think, guys? Think we should vote for her? (Naaaaaahh.)"

Just Say "No!" To Marriage?

Here's an essay by Carey Roberts on men who are postponing marriage or flat out deciding against it. This social development may continue to grow, even as courts are forced to recognize a few of men's and fathers' rights. It's gonna be hard to get the genie back in the bottle, now that men are realizing that they can get most if not all of the benefits of marriage without tying the knot.

If and when we add safe, efficient, easily reversed male birth control to our cultural soup (and that ingredient may be tossed in soon), we're likely to see a further collapse in fertility rates. More and more men may opt out of having children -- something that was once a difficulty that also brought great joy and fulfillment but that many men now see as a one-way ticket to wage slavery.

It's taken men 10,000 years to build the comfort, health, and long lives that so many enjoy today. It may well take feminism 1% of that much time to destroy it all.

Woman sets son on fire

A Canadian woman set her 13-year-old son on fire. Amazed it even made it to press, really, given the sexes of the people involved.

Rental Discrimination

DB8 Link writes "I'm looking for housing in Baltimore/Washington DC. My girlfriend is looking for the same housing in the same area in the same timeframe.

Today, we went separate ways looking for housing. I came back after looking at 8 places - each requesting credit checks and significant application fees with deposits. I applied to one, and will have to wait 7-14 days for them to call every contact on my application.

My girlfriend, on the other hand, went to 10 places, two of which offered her rent at a $100 discount. She signed a lease today, with no credit check, and then her new landlord gave her a ride home.

I've found, perusing rent sites that you see "Female Only" all the time but never "Men Only". This has been the case on both coasts, including my 6 years in Los Angeles. It's hard to find housing as a single man in this country."

Woman lies about nazi attack

plebius writes "This story from the BBC tell of a woman who lied about being attacked and covered with swastikas. This shows you the lengths that some women will go to for attention."

Ed. commentary: And it also shows the speed with which people will believe them without corroborating evidence. French newspapers were quick to press with this story, needing days later to retract it based on investigations by the police that showed her story was false. Now we'll see if she is even prosecuted. (She'll probably write a book or something saying why she did it and still get lots of sympathy for essentially perpetuating a public fraud. Ugh.) -- Matt

Women Can't Find Good Men? Blame Feminism!

Resa LaRu Kirkland has published this rant against feminism and some of its negative effects on women. Here's just a tidbit:

Does any decent American man want a modern American woman?

Signs are there...no, they don't, or given our behavior, they shouldn't. And we only have women to blame. Yeah, I said it: women.

WHOA! Are women starting to hold women responsible for their wrongdoings? Why, it's a veritable revolution! I've believed for a while that, as feminism collapses, the worst offenders (perpetrators of paternity fraud, those who drug school age boys to deconstruct their masculinity, false rape accusers, etc.) should be brought to justice by fair-minded men and women.

I'm now beginning to suspect that, once it becomes clear how terribly the lies of feminism have hurt the majority of women, it might be best to just let women deal with the hate mongers. ;) I'd pay good money for a ringside seat.

Is Innocence Now A Defense?

Wendy McElroy has penned this essay on the recent paternity fraud decision by the Second District Court of Appeal of California. I suppose we'll have to wait, to see if this goes to the California Supreme Court, but this may prove to be a landmark for the state and a guiding light for the rest of the country and beyond.

Our work is paying off.

Woman kills man by spiking his smoothie with antifreeze

bandersnatch writes "In this article, a woman charged with killing her brother-in-law by spiking his smoothie with antifreeze admits putting the chemicals in the drink, however she pleads not guilty to the charge of murder. Why? Because she only intended to hurt her relative severely enough so that he would have to move into her home — and she could then take control of his finances, claims her attorney. Who wants to bet she'll end up with some sentence like a year in some low security prison while if a man was found guilty, he'd be sitting in the chair?"

Worst movie of the year?

TLE writes "Though I haven't seen it (I refuse to contribute money to such things) I can tell Anchorman will be my candidate for worst movie of the year. In case you haven't seen the ads, Will Ferrell is the typical man trying to keep poor Chistina Applegate from succeeding in 1970 pre-feminism America. It's the cartoon image of manhood that feminism has been promoting all this time, and apparently, have convinced men like Ferrell to participate in. Since he wrote the script, he spares himself the mandatory crotch kick. That's reserved for one of his asshole male chauvinist compatriots.

Here's a positive review
from a female CNN writer.

I prefer this negative review."
