RADAR Alert: Minnesota Men Killed by Wives Unlikely to Answer Health Survey

Francis Manthey of Hill City, Minnesota was shot and killed in the early morning hours of March 5, 2003. His wife, Ardelle Manthey, has now been indicted on charges of first degree murder.

But according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the killing never happened. In fact, the 30,000 Minnesota men who were assaulted by their wives and girlfriends in 2004 were just imagining things.

The Star Tribune just ran an article titled, “3% of Minnesota Women Report Attack by Their Partner.” The article reported the results of a Health Department survey of 2,000 women. The Health Department did not bother to survey men. The results of the Health Department survey can be found here.

Woman commits murder, arson, attempted murder of rescuing fireman

bandersnatch writes "From Firehouse.com:

A woman being carried out of a burning house put a gun to a firefighter's head and pulled the trigger repeatedly but was out of bullets following the shooting death of her boyfriend, police say. The woman, in her late 50s, was hospitalized for treatment of smoke inhalation Monday. Once she is released she will be jailed for investigation of first-degree murder and two counts of assault, officer Mark Fulghum said. Police and fire investigators said she apparently tried to set fire to the house in a suicide attempt after the shooting of her longtime boyfriend, 65.

Obviously, this woman was very ill and deserves absolutely no jail time for this domestic violence against her boyfriend. *turns off sarcasm*"

Desperate to be "housewives"

bandersnatch writes "From The Independent:

They are the generation of women who grew up expecting to have it all. No longer forced to choose between children and a career, they were set to embrace superwomanhood by doing both - while holding down a perfect relationship and keeping a spotless home in their spare time. But modern woman has taken a reality check. The average 29-year-old now hankers for a return to the lifestyle of a 1950s housewife. The daughters of the "Cosmo" generation of feminists want nothing more than a happy marriage and domestic bliss in the countryside, according to a survey. Research into the attitudes of 1,500 women with an average age of 29 found that 61 per cent believe "domestic goddess" role models who juggle top jobs with motherhood and jet-set social lives are "unhelpful" and "irritating". More than two-thirds agree that the man should be the main provider in a family, while 70 per cent do not want to work as hard as their mother's generation. On average, the women questioned want to "settle down" with their partner by 30 and have their first child a year later.

And of course, guys, we all know what this means -- they want to be housewives without any of the housework."

MSN Columnist: Wife cheating-- what did YOU do wrong?

Anonymous User writes "
Advice columnist gives sh*tty advice to men regarding how to deal with infidelity.

I have a hard time imagining her advising a woman "I am not blaming the victim here — fidelity is a choice — but there probably are things you can do to lessen the chance your [husband] will cheat again."... and then run on into a litany of potentially wifely obligations that she ought to entertain (doing dishes, shining his shoes).

Woman Superior Cited In Police Harassment Suit

cmdr iceman writes "Officer says his complaints were ignored by department. This article is just more proof that sexual harrassment laws were only written to serve women. The saddest part I found in all of this was how obdurate his male superiors were as they stymied the officer's efforts for the
harassment to end and instead encouraged him to accede to her advances because she would be chief one day."

15 Year Old Girl Poisons Mother's Boyfriend

ArtflDgr writes "The full text of the article can be found HERE

Basically during a day outing shopping and a stop at McDonalds this girl added a micky finn of copper sulfate she stole from school to her mothers boyfriends soda.

My Favorite Quote: Danielle Sander’s family describes her as a “sweet girl"

Despite what many are thinking, this man is a very very lucky man given that this material is quite toxic.

Women given 15 minute handicap at LA Marathon

bandersnatch writes "From Running USA:

Under hazy skies, relative calm and temperatures in the mid-50s, the elite women took off 15 minutes and 50 seconds ahead of the elite men and the rest of the 25,000 plus entrants. The handicap differential was determined by past LA Marathon winning times and the relative strength of the elite fields (last year's, differential was 20:30).

After the race, Lyubov Denisova expressed disappointment in finishing third in The Challenge (46 seconds behind) and believed the 15:50 handicap favored the men. I'm confused and speechless. Confused as I thought whatever a man can do, a woman can do just as good or better. So why the need for a handicap, ladies? Speechless because I can't believe I just read a woman saying that a 15 minute handicap for the women runners favored the men."

Boeing employees raise Stonecipher questions

bandersnatch writes "From USA Today, Boeing on Tuesday issued a brief notice to all employees that said "many employees" have questioned why the female executive remains with the company while Stonecipher was forced to resign. It's good to see individuals in the workplace (usual awash in femnazi HR policies) asking this exact question. After all, if it was violation of company ethics for Stonecipher to have an affair. How come it's not one for the female executive in question?"

Male pill proposal flawed at conception (allegedly)

It's been quite a while since we had a condescending talking down about the male pill by a woman, or a pseuedo-man lackey, so here's a new article. Of course, we all know the condescension is really a projection of fear onto the nearest man for being able to do what women have been doing for at least 2 generations, or longer if you consider keeping your fertility ambiguous is what a certain half of humanity use to sexually manipulate the other half of humanity? Yeah I think so. Even if the side effects are harsh, it would most likely reverse the sexual dynamics, and that alone would be worth it. And since we're at it, shall we take a few guesses at the scare mongering tactics we'll have to endure when our pill gets released?

Office Romances-- Just Say No

Tumescent writes "We've all probably heard about Harry Stonecipher, ex-CEO of Boeing. Now we finally hear about the other side of the equation here. It just goes to highlight once again that there is little upside and a great big downside in having an office romance no matter what level you are in the company. If you like your job, don't get romantically involved at work-- it doesn't matter if you are the CEO or not. Actually, according to the article, Stonecipher wasn't fired for the romance, but it led to violation of the company code of ethics. Probably deserved. Now let's see if the company code of ethics applies to the woman executive involved as well."
