RADAR Alert: Now is the time to contact your legislator

Congress reconvenes after Labor Day, a mere three weeks from now. Since the Violence Against Women Act expires September 30th, it's likely that the 2005 reauthorization bill will be one of the first things to be considered by Congress once they're back in session.

During the coming three weeks our lobbyists will be meeting with congressional staffmembers, working to convince them to remove the gender-bias from the bill. But those who want the discrimination to continue will be lobbying hard as well.

MSN Strikes Again: Men Are Drooling Semi-literates

apetr writes "This article looked promising but started off on the wrong foot. I was offended to say the least.

Opening lines:

"Get out the spittoon. Men produce twice as much saliva as women. Women, for their part, learn to speak earlier, know more words, recall them better, pause less and glide through tongue twisters."

How about this intro: "Women can only produce half as much saliva as Men, while men commmand better math and spatial abilities, excel in physics and calculus and tend not to run off at the mouth."

Here is the entire article."

RADAR Alert: Our Lobbying Team in Washington Needs Your Help and Support

Let's be realistic. After 30 years of the one-party gender system, it's going to take awhile to reform all the unjust laws that discriminate against men. The Violence Against Women Act is one example of these unfair laws.

We have to work for the changes that will do the most to reduce bias against men, and have a good chance of success.

Men, Boys, and Steroids

Anonymous User writes "An article by a pro wrestler that discusses the serious problem of steroids and the dangerous effects on men and young boys that the media never covers.

From the article:

'Steroids are the male equivalent of female eating disorders. Women starve themselves to reach their unrealistic body image standards; guys are taking steroids to reach theirs. This is a very dangerous situation because unfortunately we look for results first and worry about the consequences after. I think we owe it to our kids to be better than that!' "

Mother Moves Overseas and Leaves her Daughter Behind

Tirryb writes "In This story on the BBC, a mother moved to Turkey and left her 14/15 year old daughter alone to fend for herself. This was a permanent move, not just a 'quicky holiday escape'.

Of course, there is no talk of charges. "The police have confirmed they are trying to trace the woman's whereabouts with a view to bringing her back to the UK." A slap on the wrist seems likely."
