Michael Buerk Criticizes our Feminised World on British TV

ahhkaboom writes "On British television (on the first episode of "Don't Get Me Started" on Channel Five), Michael Buerk dared to note and also criticize how our world is becoming feminised. He noted how masculine qualities are being forced aside, men are being forced out of the family, and how men are being feminised in various ways. The press, of course, has hated Mr. Buerk for these views.

Here, however, is a more fair view from the press on the program here."

Germaine Greer - paedophile?

Steven X Brown writes "Excellent article
here from Jonathan Gornall in today's Times. He writes (prompted by Greer's new book 'The Boy') of how it's almost 'acceptable' nowadays for grown women to abuse and lust after underage boys, whereas if the genders were reversed there would be an outcry

Pornography exploits men, not women, says porn star

bandersnatch writes "From BBC News:

Many people argue that pornography is degrading and exploitative to women. But Michelle Thorne, who has worked in the porn industry for six years, does not agree. "I have never felt exploited. If anything it's giving you power over men. The only people exploited, if anyone is, are the men who go out and spend their money on porn," says the 26-year-old from Bristol. But Miss Thorne claims: "The people in this world who are really being exploited are those women in those countries where they have to cover up all the time and can't vote or anything. A woman's sexuality does give her power."

Her last sentence carries a deep resonance with me -- is it any surprise why feminists push for carte blanche privilege with their sexuality while constantly pushing for social / legal changes to keep a man's in check?"

NC to Encourage Women Seeking TROs to Get Guns

Anonymous User writes "North Carolina wants to issue guns with their restraining orders. Bad enough throwing guns into a volatile situation, if we didn't know already that a huge percentage of restraining orders are falsified to get the man out of the house and get the upper hand in a divorce. The Gov has until Oct 1 to veto. How about sending him a letter? Story link here."

CNN reports workplace fatalities

johnnyp writes "I am curious - how come the news media regularly fails to point out the disparity between men and women when reporting workplace fatalities, but never fail to report that women make less than men? Furthermore, when the income disparity is reported the media almost always fails to mention that there is no income disparity when you factor in work experience and education within job type."

so we have responded to this need from our contacts by developing a
brochure on the subject so that families who need help with this issue
will know that we are available to assist.
Sibling Violence is not sibling rivalry, it should be looked at
more in the context of bullying, child abuse and possibly as another

Call to Action: Child Support Review in Arkansas

TMN writes "Recevied from eli72117-at-yahoo.com

September 8th, 2005 at 1:00 PM: The Justice Building, 625 Marshall Street, Room 101, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201

Hello Everyone,

Arkansas Child Support is not determined by legislation, but by a private committee. The Committee on Child Support meets approximately every four years in order to discuss child support amounts. Historically the amount is raised every time without a wide spectrum of viewpoints. The determination based on neither scientific statistics nor common-sense. I encourage everyone to be on time. There are few opportunities like this to make a real difference."

"There was another detrimental meeting that occurred earlier in the year and nobody with our similar viewpoint attended. Upon contacting many of us whom I had e-mailed, each person stated that he or she believed that plenty of other people would attend. They all assumed that the next person would be there. I ask that you make a strong effort to attend. There are going to possibly be multiple representatives of "women's rights" organizations, including N.O.W., attending this meeting. Although women's rights are very different from children's or mother's rights, the conference center will have many representatives of women's rights organizations present. There is a strong probability that the term "DEADBEAT DADS" will be throughout the room. The ideology of "DEADBEAT DADS" should not be used in determining child support. If you do not attend or encourage others to attend, then do not complain about the inevitable outcome. I also highly encourage representatives of out-of-state organizations also attend this meeting. This will set the stage for common-sense rules to be implemented in every state. There are several considerations that the committee is ignoring:

Interstate child support

Surplus child support amounts received by the CP

OCSE getting the amounts incorrect

Being double taxed on the child support

Does the Custodial Parent use the money appropriately?

Summer daycare and extra-curricular activities for the child

These issues should be considered in court. What most view as common-sense differs from the opinion of the courts. So, we must erase the ambiguity and do what makes America a democratic and safe nation.

Pass this e-mail on to everyone as you see fit.

Best Regards,
Eli

Japan's female workers: "wasted asset"

Kyo writes "Time Magazine has a story on female workers as a "wasted asset" in Japan.

The usual fallacious logic finds its way into print yet again:

Activist Hiroko Hara says, "We have to figure out whether to keep fighting for our dream of equality or just give up on having it all."

Once again the "stark career-or-kids choice" is given as an injustice o women, conveniently forgetting that those overworked "salarymen" have no choice at all -- for them, it's work until you collapse."

"Animal" Comment Triggers Equality Debate in Sweden

Anonymous User writes "This article from Women'sEnews is innocently entitled "Animal Comment Triggers Equality Debate in Sweden," but it does not relate the viciousness of the statements made about men by Ireen von Wachenfeldt, a government official who is one of Sweden's best-known feminists. From the article:
"The Swedish TV reporter, Evin Rubar, asked von Wachenfeldt about the statement from the SCUM Manifesto: "To call a man an animal is to flatter him; he's a machine, a walking dildo."
"Is that your standpoint?" Rubar asked.
"Yes, it's my standpoint," the director said.
"That man is an animal?" the reporter said.
"Man is an animal," von Wachenfeldt said. "Don't you think so?""
