Oops: Surgeon severs infant boys penis during botched circumcision

'The family of an infant boy filed a lawsuit Wednesday against a doctor and a Mattoon hospital claiming negligence in a circumcision that apparently severed the boy’s penis.'

I wonder what the parents will say when the boy is older and asks why they risked his health, and the only answers they'll have are "we wanted you to look like your father", or "we thought everyone did it".

It should be outlawed.

Leave everything as it was intended to be.

In order to truly advance as a society we need to get over the last great hurdle and that is our hang ups regarding sexuality. Circumcision is one of those hang ups.

It hasn't been that long ago that a hospital in my area "burnt off" the penis's of two newborns within the same short time frame with a Rube Goldberg type electrical contraption that performed the circumcision and cauterized the wound at the same time. Now even yet another report of this barbaric medical procedure gone wrong again! There is NO medical justification for continuing this stupid crap. In the 50's it was the medical rage to have perfectly healthy tonsils removed. That is now viewed as bad medicine and a surgeon who does it could get the hell sued out of him/her. And no ethical medical practitioner would ever remove a perfectly healthy appendix in anticipation that someday it could become malignate. And of course a surgeon that would remove perfectly healthy breasts to prevent breast cancer would be considered a Nazi war criminal.
