Ric writes "Sydney's leading daily newspaper has just run another story about domestic violence and you guessed it - no mention of violence against men or against children. RespectYourMan has set up a protest page with sample email to send to the columnist - Piers Akerman. This is the third DV article along these lines in this newspaper in the last 12 months. Enough!

Linucs writes "According to the Oregon Daily Emerald, the 'Vagina Monologues' drew protests. What kind of protests? Get this: 'In flyers handed out to audience members at the show, University graduate Nicole Sangsuree Barrett wrote that while there was `diversity` in the show, it was minimal. Women of `a variety of skin colors, body sizes, abilities and gender expressions were not adequately represented,` she said. Maybe women are underrepresented in this diverse, multicultural, inclusive process, which will lead to dialogue and facilitates emancipation from the patriarchy-made race-based stereotypes that may hurt sensitive and oppressed women.'

Great AIDS prevention strategy. Sounds to me like warmed-over Western academic feminitwit-babble. It's the new form of global colonialism. And it shows contempt for men lives and ignores the many male victims of AIDS. Thanks for your care for men, Princess."

"All it takes for a woman to begin turning the wheels of VAWA in her aid is an accusation. No proof or demonstration of need is ever required by women’s shelters, because it is presumed that no woman would ever misrepresent or lie about being abused. An accused man has no recourse in defending himself, guilty or not. Generally, an Order of Protection is arranged for ex parte, that is, separate from the accused. Some locales even allow for application for the orders to be made online. Often an accused abuser has no knowledge of the order, and finds himself informed of it only after he’s violated it by going home. In one extreme case I’m aware of, the accused was hauled out of his bed by police and arrested. His wife had not bothered to even tell him about his violation, or of the order itself. They’d had dinner and spent the evening as usual, and this man had no hint of what was in store for him after he fell asleep.""
