Are you are tired of media articles that depict men as abusers and batterers? Are you worried that one day you might be falsely accused of domestic violence? Have you felt frustrated wondering what you can do to stop this?
Now, there’s a solution in sight. RADAR – which stands for Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting -- is a campaign that will harness the efforts of hundreds, if not thousands, of men’s and father’s rights advocates around the country.

Over the past 10 years, the American public has been fed a steady diet of negative depictions of men by the mainstream media. We see it on the Oprah Winfrey Show, TV sitcoms, advertisements, movies, and even Hallmark greeting cards.
At best, men and fathers are portrayed as inept and confused. At worst, men are presented as the object of derision and scorn.
There is no better example of these negative portrayals than how the media covers the issue of domestic violence.
Over 100 studies have analyzed the nature of domestic violence. These articles consistently report the same result: domestic violence (DV) is an equal opportunity problem. Women are just as likely to initiate partner aggression as men. Anyone can review these studies by visiting the online compilation of Martin Fiebert, Ph.D., professor of Psychology at California State University at Long Beach.

mens_issues writes "Here is the latest in a series of Maureen Dowd's misandric rantings
in the New York Times. This time it's about how men supposedly
don't want to marry women who are more successful than them (she
then equates this with men wanting to marry their mommies). Huh? I
thought that the trend more that women don't want to marry men less successful than them.

Thundercloud. writes "I was just roaming around the 'net and came across a "new" website. It is called "NICEGUY'S WOMEN/AMERISKANKS (MOSTLY) SUCK PAGE"
The webmaster is called "NiceGuy". Although I find him a bit too harsh and critical of American women, at times, and he is obviously very angry (often with good cause) he makes alot of valid points about 'Male-bashing', the media, socialized American women and especialy feminists and the workings of feminism.
If you can get passed his anger and mild gynophobia, it is a very interesting site and an interesting read. Judge for yourself.

She pleaded guilty but has yet to be sentenced. I bet she doesn't get a custodial sentence. If a man had mutilated a woman in such a way (cutting off a breast f'rinstance) he'd be locked up for years and put on the sex offenders' register for life etc etc..."

With reference to this story on MANN, MANN received the following from Harold Leist:
Hello everyone,
Earlier we chatted about HB 1737. I have been
informed that today it came up for consideration in
the Virginia General Assembly House Courts of Justice
Criminal Subcommittee.
To refresh your memory, this is the bill where they
will put you in jail for being $25,000 behind in your
child support. Now for some that seems like a lot of
money. To some of you it would take a couple of years
of not paying to rake up that much past due. However,
to some on this list it is about 4-5 months. All it
would take is for someone in this range to have a
serious medical condition or get fired before they can
go to jail.

Late last year, the National Marriage Project at Rutgers University released its 2004 annual report on the state of marriage in the US.
One interesting point:
"Challenging the popular stereotype of the marriagephobic male, findings from a new national survey of young heterosexual men, ages 25-34, indicate that while men are delaying marriage until older ages, most men are "the marrying kind." Among all men surveyed, those from traditional, religiously observant family backgrounds are more likely to be married, to seek marriage and to have positive views of marriage, women, and children than young males from nontraditional and nonreligously observant family backgrounds."
