Family Court Judge Shot in Reno
posted by Matt on 08:05 PM June 13th, 2006
News Anonymous User writes "A family court judge was shot in Reno yesterday. Judge Chuck Weller was shot through a window in his office at the Mills B. Lane Justice Center. He was wounded in the chest and taken to the local hospital in serious condition. He has survived, so far. Who wants to bet this was the result of yet another father who was railroaded by the family court system? When the police do catch the suspect involved my guess his biography will be one all too familiar fathers rights advocates."

Ed. note: Looks like indeed that may be the case; the main suspect fits that description. Follow-up is here.

There is nothing to be happy about in news like this. Assassinating judges is behavior associated with such people as drug kingpins and mafioso. What real good can come of such an incident? It won't change the direction or fundamentally unjust machinations of "The System"; if anything, it will only make them dig in their heels more. The judge is dead or badly wounded; the shooter is on the lam and eventually will be in jail or possibly killed. If it is the father of children, he will likely never see them again.

Father loses
Father's children lose
Judge loses
The man/father-persecuting judicial system wins

Nope, don't see the good in events like this. The most fundamental difference between civilization and barbarism is that in a civilization, men generally solve their primary conflicts with other men without resorting to violence. In a barbaric world, they do. Can barbarism thus serve the vital interests of men? No.

This will definitely not lead to any changes in the system, maybe better security, more cavity searches for men at the courthouse but that's it.

But then I don't believe that the frustrated second-class citizen meant to start a grand scheme of change. He was just taking out his frustrations against a system that won't listen and to whome he's just a pocketbook.

He needs to aim higher.

Sadly this man will be dismissed by the Media and the FemNags as nothing more than a kook. Unless there were a massive attack on Family Courts around the country, I agree this will not do anything positive for us. It will simply be another "Violent" disgruntled Male etc. etc.

Is that what is needed, however? The more I think about the plight of men's rights within the US, the more I've come to realize it won't be anything near equal in my lifetime, nor in the lifetime of my son. I fear that the only way anything will really change is for the men of this contry to rebel.

While I would perfer a non-violent rebelion (work stopage, or armed march to the steps of congress to show them we mean business), at least this man has chosen the correct target. To institute the change we need, we must overthrow the goverment, not the women.
