Legal Aid here is only realistically available if your income is less than $8K a year. If you get falsely accused here, you can look forward to watching your savings disappear in short order. Naturally, women are entitled to free legal assistance with any "gender"-related matters (i.e. DV, restraining orders, etc. etc.), excluding actual divorce proceedings, but costs are generally awarded to the woman anyhow, so they still get free legal counsel, while we get the bill.
