Female Teacher-Rapist Gets 9 Months in Plea Bargain
posted by Matt on 08:10 PM August 12th, 2005
Inequality Roy writes "AP reports today that Pamela Rogers Turner, a 28 year-old former elementary teacher in Tenn., pleaded no contest to charges of sexual battery and statutory rape, and was sentenced to 9 months in prison, eight years of probabtion, loss of her teaching license, and registration as a sex offender. In my state, a man's average sentence for rape/sexual assault is 15.7 years, with a mandatory minimum of 6 years. Feminist justice in action?"

It's difficult to compare sentences given under plea agreements to average sentences that are not given under a plea, but your point still stands, men on average are given much longer sentences than women for the same crimes. In the case of sexual crimes, as more and more women are uncovered for committing these offenses, it seems to me that judges and juries are starting to recognize that there is a real problem here and becoming more willing to close the sentencing gap. There is still a long way to go however.

I was glad to see that the husband had some balls and divorced her. I'm not sure if the divorce was related to her committing this crime but the idiot that still wants to marry the "runaway bride" should learn a lesson from this. While the "Runaway Bride" doesn't fit into the same catagory as this woman, these women that do these sorts of things should be rejected and in the case of pedohiles, they should be shunned from society just like men pedophiles are.

Sorry to respond to my own post, but another point I want to make is that some people will say "this women was so hot and attractive, what a great time the boy must of had" and basically give her a pass because of her stunning beauty... but her beauty should have nothing to do with it, although I think our society believes it does. If she had been an ugly cow, would her act have been anything more or less than child rape?

A 55yo business man from Arizona was sentenced to SEVEN YEARS in federal prison for basically "feeling up" a female passenger sleeping next to him on a flight from Dallas to Boston. No penetration, just a feelup job.

If the 13 yo male rape victim in the Tennessee teacher rape case had gotten his rapist pregnant during the assault HE could have been liable for child support and of course having to pay it to his rapist! This sickening scenario has actually happened in Alabama and Kansas.

It happened in Minnesota too. Last year, a 16 year old victim of statutory rape was hauled into court on a second count of contempt for non-payment of child support to the 39 year old child molestor. She was never prosecuted.

The way the mainstream media studiously avoids these huge prooblems is revolting. Nothing has increased my contempt for the media like its contempt for men.

The Washington Post just had a front page story on the "epidemic" of men sexually abusing...female foreign exchange students. The article led off with a couple of lurid incidents. I can't say more because I refuse to buy misandristic rags like the Post. I just looked at the front page in 7-11. Can you pronounce "promoting anti-male stereotypes"? Still waiting for the front-page story about the judicial system punishing male sex offenders much more harshly than female sex offenders.

Sadly we still live in a feminist-dominated culture that looks at rape and sexual assault as "brutal and violent subjugation" if the victim is female; but if the victim is male, then "he just got lucky!"

The kid's mom is obviously more loyal to feminist doctrine than she is to her own child.

No, not necessarily so. Perhaps she thinks that putting this behind him is better than drawing it out in a year long trial complete with media attention.

We all do things in our children's best interest that maybe in hindsight, or to others, may not seem to be the best thing. That doesn't mean we don't care.

I agree I think she should have fought it, and not accepted the plea. But I am not her.
