Boys' Educational Deficit Still Pronounced
posted by Matt on 06:40 PM May 16th, 2005
Boys/Young Men AngryMan writes "In British high schools, 'girls are up to 115 per cent more likely to achieve an A or B grade than boys.' Boys problems at school are still not being effectively addressed. Not surprising when one school principal 'David Haywood believes this is to do with the intrinsic ability of boys rather than the school's educational ethos.' Article here."

In the article there are several things that worry me
1)there may be a tendency to funnel boys into vocational paths, instead of improving the teaching quality.
2)If teachers in Britain are anything like here in America, they have only themselves to blame for performance deficits.

Actually this whole thing seems to be somewhat of a feminist backlash to the Summers statements..
