My son was recently kicked out of school for being a behaviour problem. It was a montisorri school which my wife chose. The thing is this. They decided my three year old was a behaviour problem after THREE days, and gave us an ultamatum of either therapy (for a three year old???) or he got the boot. I took the boot and asked them for 100% of tuition back.
The thing is this... If a Montisorri school which is supposed to cater to their individual needs isn't prepared to handle boys, who is?

I just took a look at http://www.montessori.org/ and it seems to be a crock of trendy New Age crap. The class sizes are bigger than other schools, and yet they are more expensive! They said your THREE YEAR OLD needed therapy - was this therapy expensive by any chance? You did the right thing not to pathologize your kid. Don't get mad. Get organised.

To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to anything they said after they said my THREE YEAR OLD needed therapy. I do assure you he is a happy healthy, very physically active, little boy. Exactly like he is supposed to be.
For a follow up, he is now in a more normal setting, a pre-school, daycare, play group. They say he is getting along just fine.
Also, I would like to point out to fathers, this has made me grateful that I am involved with my sons life. My wife was gonna go along with their crap. LOL, I am still wondering what sort of childhood issues a THREE YEAR OLD has to work out in therapy.

NONE!
(hehe... premature submitification)
That kind of crap really pisses me off, and I'd have ripped them for it, what in doG's name are they thinking. Next they'd have had him on Ritalin, friggin MORONS. Be grateful you found out how incompetent they ware as quickly as you did, before they had the opportunity to damage your child. Our oldest is almost in high school and he's still suffering the effects of incompetent kindergarden and first grade teachers.
Homeschooling, in many places I think it's the only viable option.
BTW... this is Dave... Jen must have logged in on my computer again and I just realized it.

F.Y.I. By law all teachers and administrators are required to report child neglect to social services so that they can now seize your child.
It is now common to report parents who refuse to take their children to therapy after the school advises them to do so. The same is happening with drugs. If the school wants a child on drugs and the parents refuse then by law they are required to report the parents and have the children seized.
Stay away from them. Stay very far away. Do not ever let them know that you object to their recommendation or you may loose your children.
This seizing of children by the state is in line with the Marxist-Feminist agenda of the destruction of families and innocent boys.

Everyone needs to read Christina Hoff Sommers 'The War Against Boys'.
This is what happens when feminazis colonise the school system. Most grade school teachers are women, which means these days they are mainly feminists, or have been exposed to feminist ideas. They are suspicious of males, and so create a hostile environment for male colleagues, driving men out of the profession, and increasing the proportion of women teachers further. They do not want to understand boys or their needs, and do not know how to teach them, but they will never admit this. They solve the problem by pathologising the boys. If they can't relate to the boys in class, it must be the boys' fault.
Many teachers may want to naturally favour kids of their own sex, but they have to be professional enough not to do so. Nowadays, feminism has taught these women that they are *right* to favour the girls and marginalise the boys. Giving kids drugs? What it that about?
It's time people took back the schools - especially you guys in North America. Giving kids Ritalin is practically unheard of in the UK. What happened to all these 'problem' boys before Ritalin came along? Most of them did perfectly well in school.
Don't get mad. Get organised.

I'm so stunned (and disgusted) I really don't know what to say. This not only shows gender bias by the teachers and administrators, it shows that they aren't even capable of differentiating a healthy, normal child from one who really needs medical attention. This is reminiscent of the psych wards in the 50's where they handed out Thorazine to every patient simply to keep the ward quiet. Given the number of recent articles about SSRI's and adolescent suicides, I really wonder what state our kids are going to be in when they reach adulthood.
Hell hath no fury like the woman whose husband brings home the wrong brand of cheese...
