News jenk writes "http://www.menshealthoffice.info "Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham and Senator Mike Crapo have introduced companion bills which will establish an Office of Men's Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This office would mirror the work of the existing Office of Women's Health, which has helped to save thousands of women's lives and has improved the lives of many more."

I think we need to look into this and vocaly promote and support this bill."

There's a link right on the page that you can use to send a letter showing support. In fact the main body of the letter has already been written for you, and by filling in just a couple of fields it will be sent to your senator and congressional representative automatically with one click. Being a men's activist has never been so easy!

Thanks Jen for putting this up. It is very important. Every little bit helps.

Something else you can do here is to call your Senators and Congressmen and ask that they be co-sponsors of this bill. It's that simple, you just talk to whatever staff member answers the phone and tell them that you want them to co-sponsor it. This takes very little effort on their part but makes a statement that they are endorsing the legislation. If they agree to co-sponsor it increases the momentum of the bill and the liklihood that it will pass. Maybe more importantly, if they refuse to co-sponsor it tells us even more. It says that they are actively against it or are too lazy to take a stand. More likely they are cowards who don't want to look badly in the eyes of the feminists. Doing anything to help men or fathers is a black mark. UGH. Make them pay for their cowardice.

You can find your senators phone numbers here. or your representatives numbers here. When you call get the name of the person you talked with and ask them to get back to you with their decision. Also, ask for how long it will take them to get back and when that time is past give them a call back and remind them of their commitment. Force them to be accountable. They rely on people not following up which leaves them free to do as they wish and then to claim that they support men's rights/men's health etc. I have had to call back my senators offices repeatedly. Keep after them.

Hold them to the fire!

Let us know how it works out. It would be great to put together a list of those representatives who refuse to be co-sponsors!

In Maryland, Congressman Van Hollen is now a co-sponsor.

Sadly, Senators Mikulski and Sarbannes have refused! Don't ever vote for either one of these man haters!!! If you are in Maryland call them anyway! Tell them you want them to co-sponsor.

I sent mine. Sorry to be away for a few days. I sent mine to the Alaska Sen/Cong and to the Massachusetts (where I came into the military). Its SO DAMN EASY the way it is set up. Just do it folks. You type in your name, E-mail, and pick your Rep/Sen and it SENDS the letter FOR you. Damn, I wish more were that easy.

Peace
