Last I knew, most women would love a male contraceptive that men would use. In my old pre- married days, birth control was a woman's responsibility and pain. Using these hormones long term was not healthy, and many women have reactions to them; IUDs could be dangerous and create long term damage. The whole diafram/foam business was just messy and noisy. Men on average would not use a condom for sensory reasons. (mind you this was over 10 years ago, in my small sphere of expirience)
I remember an article I read about 10-12 years ago saying that it was lack of funding that was inhibiting research for a male pill, and this lack of funding was because all the polls the medical groups pr people did showed that most men would refuse to take the pill if it were developed.
I guess it took the current state of affairs for men to take this seriously (as a group.)I am just glad it has happened, as it would go a long way I think towards changing the game, both for female perceptions of responsibility of men, and for men to have the control of whether or not to have kids while still having full sensory relations. My only concern is that the pill does not prevent STDs, which, giving how promiscuous both sexes are these days, should be a real concern.
Anyways, I think this is valuable research, and a positive for both sexes.
