It is bad all over…
In MA a judge can use a ma.law 58A to lock a father up for up to 90 days just on mere allegation alone as long as the "victim" says she is afraid. What 58A essentially does is deny bail based on the concept that the man will harm someone even after a restraining order is issued... This law was made to protect people from severe violent offenders, no fathers on allegation alone.
So out of the blue one day a man can find himself behind bars, removed from society, locked up with restricted phone privileges for up to 90 days. And then locked up again for another 90 days like the man who called his ex back.
58A is becoming a more popular tactic used by judges in MA in DV cases.
My ex did this to me. Needless to say, she is a very persuasive liar... She got all my stuff, denigrated my name and locked me up to hide the fact that she had a new "lover" (who she also had living in the house the same week she filed false claims against me) - and had this lover ( a lesbian) perjure herself to help enable the system to attack me.
I got out after 10 days in lockup, after many superior court visits where I pointed out that I have no history of violence, there where no actual injuries -just words, and that I am losing my job based on allegation alone. This did cost a lot in legal fees.
What a nice judicial system we have here in MA.
All my ex has to do is make a phone call if she is bored and the SWAT team will be here to arrest me again.

In states where Democrats are strongly in power (CA, MA, etc.) men suffer greatly at the hands of the Domestic Violence Nazis.

Jesus! I didn't realize they had anything like that in MA. That is totally bogus.
Missouri has it's own wonderful laws in that area, but what strikes me the most is -- if a woman goes in to get a restraining order they will have a person type it up, and give her a lawyer, and pay the fee for her. If a man goes in, he's got to do it all himself, pay the fee himself, and present it himself. Can you say vastly disparate treatment?
I'm guessing they get federal funding for that.
Freedom Is Merely Privilege Extended Unless Enjoyed By One & All.

This is disgusting! And to think we have billions of dollars and thousands of troops (almost all men of course) tied up in Iraq to insure that we are not subjected to Asiatic tyranny.
Why are the men in Massachusetts so whimpy that they can not get it together to do something about these insane restraining orders and the bastards in black robes that dole them out like candy? Are they so decrepit as a political force in the state that all they can do is get buzzed up on beer and watch ballgames and hope that things will work out for the better?

I may get flamed for saying this, but here goes. If I ever have a total lapse of reason and marry and end up like the poor guy in this story, I'll pick up and leave the country, then take as many of the tyrant's storm troopers with me before I die when they come for me. I'd rather do that than live under tyranny. The worst part about it is all that's required is being male and an allegation - no proof - by a female.
