it's the return policy...awful.
I did shoot off a short note, though. Just to let 'em know I don't care for such tactics.

This should come from the "So what else is new? Same old, same old..." department.
Yep. Dad's a boob. He's useless, socially inept, and we generously might agree he serves as a terrible warning.
And I get called all kinds of misogynist because I choose not to inflict my toxic masculinity on any female.
Hmm - wonder if that's a good spin on it? Nah. That wouldn't piss the pheminists off.

Sorry about the belated nature of this post, but I was away for several days.
I did see this commercial (two weeks ago) and managed to record the second part of it on my VCR.
I sent the following note to them:
To the Media Relations department at Burlington Coat Factory:
I am writing to complain about your TV advertisement for Father’s Day. In this commercial, a father first ruins the laundry before burning dinner, while his wife looks on with disdain. While the husband is burning dinner, the narrator says “Because let’s face it – dads need all the help they can get.”
I find this commercial to be demeaning and offensive to fathers. Advertisements such as this highlight a double standard in which it is forbidden to portray women as inept in the workplace, while it is acceptable and “funny” to portray men as inept at household chores. It should be brought to your attention that anti-male ads such as these are being criticized on several websites (which are viewed by thousands of people each day). Men have become tired of negative portrayals of males in the media, and even some women are starting to speak out against this (it isn't particularly flattering to them either).
It is strongly recommended that you find an alternative approach to selling products, which is not insulting to men. Companies cannot afford to alienate half the population, particularly during a time of economic weakness. While I have rarely shopped at Burlington Coat Factory in the past, I most certainly will not shop there now after having viewed this commercial.
