Firstly, happy birthday Dan.
Now about that comment on marriage.
Yes, marriage could be a positive event for men. However, since we who post comments on this site are conscious of the true reality men face in marriage we should note that it is also a worthwhile event to celebrate when you get a legally binding prenuptial agreement signed sealed and delivered.

Fair enough Luek. The important message here is that what posters feel important to them. Something that makes them happy. Please feel free to expand on the list as you see fit.
Maybe you scored a hat trick or hit a grandslam homerun. Scored high on an exam, landed a job you wanted, were able to make a connection with someone about what is happening to our rights. It's up to you.
Though the cautionaray advice is always welcome.

I'm now celebrating my birthdays and semiannual birthday (or is it biannual), anyway its every six months. I can't wait a whole year. We need more frequent celebrations in our lives. Good idea.

Happy birthday, Dan! Be proud of surviving one more year on this planet. I recently celebrated my 25th. Yeah, I know - I'm a "kid", but the sobering reality is that, based on the average male life expectancy, my life will be theoretically half-over only 10 years from now.
That's why we gotta work on that life expectancy problem!

Thank you everyone! Some good ideas about 'birthweeks' (not sure if my liver can handle that).
I wish we all could get together under one big conference and celebrate as well as discuss ideas about our world.
As for personel information, I agree everyone should be weary of threats and take precautions.
But as for me, I have choosen to be a sacrificial lamb and I will put it all out there for those to see. Im afraid sometimes, but Im more afraid of what will happen if I don't do it.
I feel that as an individual my duty is to battle the state constantly to keep it in check. The state does not deserve more power than the individual, ever.
Which is why feminism is an equal threat to women as it is to men. Because the only way for a hate movement to survive is to continue hating.
We are not feminism's worst enemy - feminism's worst enemy is itself.
The thing I have wished for today is for *wisdom*.
Thank you again for all the kind comments. If anyone on this board is upset with me I hope we can work it out. Celebrate a little for me. :)

This sounds like a good idea on the surface Dan but be careful what personal information you reveal. The enemy will make as much use out of your personal information against you as they can. I don't see how announcing your birthday would hurt though.

And Congratulations... I'm looking at my 36th come October, and I find life getting much richer and more interesting as I grow older. Even more... the older I get the more I realize there is to learn.
My wife and I just had an offer accepted for a new home in the finger lakes. 3900 sq. ft. fully renovated home built in 1900. We're VERY excited, racing around working to get our place ready and on the market.
Life is good, and through vigilance we can make sure our children (both boys AND girls) have a shot at a good life too.

Happy Birthday. I think this is a great thing to add to the site, as men we have to share ourselves with one another to foster the brotherhood that once existed. We are all brothers in Arms here and this should be a place to symbolize that.
I just got a summer job at a provincial Child Welfare Agency, it is to get me some experience for my Degree in Social Work, which I havejust completed the first year of.
