"Chasing Papi" Rhymes With....

The Media Thundercloud. writes "A little while back I submitted a post about yet another anti-male movie that is to be released soon. But I didn't know the name of the movie, untill now. It is called "CHASING PAPI". As you (may) recall I described this movie as haveing an all hispanic cast. That's not the bad part, of course. The bad part is that this is yet ANOTHER; "Men are all evil, cheating, louses and women get revenge on man, by tying him up and torturing him. This is simply an Hispanic version of any given anti-male\males-put-in-bondage-by-"righteous"-wome n movie that we have all seen in the past. The whole "Man as lying, cheater" scenario is just an excuse to show the usual; 'women tying up and gagging and dominating a man bondage situation', that has become so prevalant on TV and movies these days. I don't know who's sicker. The people who keep cranking these hate-films out or the women who go see them... And women ask why men don't particularly like them, anymore. Yeah, Can't imagine, ladies. Can't imagine."

Remember that '80s film where Dolly Parton and a couple other dames get together to torture their boss? I watched it several times when I was younger and it never hit me that if the roles were reversed everyone would be totally pissed off.

Yeah, I remember that stupid movie.
It was called "9 to 5".
Fact of the matter is, this sort of 'male-bondage' scenerio took hold about that time, and has steadily grown worse over the years.
Just tonight on the TV show "24" (on FOX) I was appauled to see yet another man in yet ANOTHER sexual-bondage situation. This one MUCH worse than most.
He is gagged (With an actual BONDAGE GAG) and hauled up completely naked with his hands tied over his head. Then he is being shocked with a tazer-gun, all over his naked body, including you-know-where. THIS IS ON TELEVISION!!!!
This sort of sexualy violent "SnM" treatment of men has been appearing on television, as of late AGAIN and AGAIN. It is now rampant in the movies, as well. One of the worst examples is "Pulp fiction". (or as I like to call it POOP fiction.) We all know the scene I'm talking about, where Samual l. Jackson and Bruce Willis are tied up by homosexuals, they are gagged with some sort of red rubber-ball things, and are summarily SODOMIZED!
On TV shows like "She-spies", the now canceled "Darkangel", "Buffy the vampire slayer", "Relic hunter" and too many more for me to remember, this scenerio is a WEEKLY THING.
Recently on "Buffy" I saw where one of the girls, 'Willow' I think her name is, had some guy partialy naked, his arms tied out-streatched with his LIPS SEWN SHUT! And just tonight on the same show (Buffy) they showed a man tied to a table being beaten and tortured by a demon, or something.
Soap operas are going this rout as well, as of late. Not long ago, I saw on "Guiding light" (I think it was) where, you guessed it, a woman has a man bound and gagged on a bed with his shirt off.
I hate to sound like a "broken record" but the question MUST AGAIN be asked; If the gender roles were reversed would it EVER be tolerated?!?
We all know the ansewer is a resounding "NO!!"
If done to a female in the EXACT same way it is being done to men, it would be called PORNOGRAPHY! Which is exactly what this crap IS!
And it's not going to get better by it's self.

Women aren't going to speak out against it because, generaly speaking, they GET OFF on this sort of thing. (What does THAT tell you...?)

Not only am I disturbed by this trend in the "entertainment" media, I am also disturbed by the lack of attention and the lack of out-cry on behalf of men and men's activists, about this garbage. What does this sort of thing do to men's Psyci? Or, more over, what does it do to the psyci of a YOUNG BOY when he CONSTANTLY sees his gender depicted in this manner?!? What does message does it convey to young girls...?
I know that we have other fish to fry, in the men's movement. But, guys, It is REALLY time to see about putting a stop to this. I MEAN it!

God help me. If I had known what women were truely up to, back in the day, I would have NEVER supported feminism...!

'Willow' was addicted to black magic & ended up tring to destroy the world. The guy who was flayed alive was the most evil person in the series, the show still implied that horribly torturing the guy was still the thin edge of the wedge. In another episode Angel was terrorising some bound gypsy girl. Neither act was meant to be good. Also in the last series the big bad guy was a gal.

I got really pissed of at those Sheri S. Tepper books where the "good guys/gals" rape guys to punish them for their gender insensitivity. But while Buffy has lots of horrible violence it is portrayed as bad regardless of which gender it is aimed at.

Actually I find it quite funny how Buffy blows the stereotypes all out of proportion and generally doesn't take them that seriously. E.g. Willows boyfriends raging emotions have more to do with werewolf blood than testosterone. When Buffy does her boyfriend, he doesn't just become an prick, due to a curse he loses his soul & becomes evil. When he becomes good again Buffy asks him to trust her and sticks a sword through his heart.

I'm not a big "Buffy" watcher.
But it seems that whenever I happen to be flipping through the channles, and I come across the show, they have some guy trussed up and sexual comments and inuendos are made.
I didn't know the one guy was flayed alive. (But considering the climate of anti-male hate, these days, I am not the least suprised.) I changed the channel almost as soon as I saw it and said to myself; "Here we go again..."
Also, though, I notice that the excuse for degrading men in this way freaqently IS; "He's evil..." Or "he's a jerk." Again it is just an excuse.
I have never seen a woman who is portrayed as "evil" treated in the fashion men who are portrayed as evil are treated. In fact "evil" female charaters are often portrayed as "sexy" and/or "empowered". Freaquently there is NO "come-upance' at all for such female characters. And if there is it is rather minor. She goes to jail or something, or gets away with her evil deeds scott-free.
The fact also remains that one doesn't have to GO LOOKING for this type of sadistic misandry. In each and every case that I've mentioned, and many I haven't, I was just channel-surfing.
There have been times when I have seen theis sort of treatment of men on more than one channel at ONE TIME.
I repeat the sentement of my previous post; If women were being treated and depicted even REMOTELY the way men are, in this fashion, You could make all the excuses you like but not ONE would be considered acceptable, by ANYONE.

As an American-Indian activist, I have seen "literature" by the Ku Klux Klan. some in the form of "comic" books. In these "comic" books Jews, Indians, Hispanics, Catholics and particularly Blacks are shown to be tortured and maimed and degraded. this is done under the title of "comedy". The Nazis had similar "cartoons" and "comedies" depicting Jews in the same way.
As an Indian, I am appaled by such things, as any normal human being WOULD be regardless of ethnicity.
As a MAN I am JUST as appaled by the treatment of my gender in movies, TV, Romance novels, etc.
The targets of such vicious, sadistic hate may be different, But it is EXACTLY the SAME thing.
The SAME THING!

"She goes to jail or something, or gets away with her evil deeds scott-free."

I recently half-watched a movie, I forget the name but the main character was played by one of the Friends sitcom actors.

This movie was horrible. It was about a women from a small town who is bored with her husband and small town life so she decides to cheat on her husband with this young man at her work. Eventually things start to get heavy when she thinks she's going to get caught. She then tries to get the young man put into a mental institute. Eventually the young man is shot by the police ending her affair problem. Along the way one of her husband's friends finds out about her affair and forces her to have sex with him or he will tell. I'm not sure if she kills this guy or just attempts to. At the end her husband finds out she is having an affair because she gets pregnant and he is infertile. She then tells her husband some guy she doesn't like "got" her pregnant and he runs off and beats him up.

This would be a good psychological thriller movie but the sad thing is that this women wasn't portrayed as evil in the movie. The impression I got was that you were supposed to feel pitty and compassion for her and the things she "had" to do.

Yes, Exactly.
When female characters are "evil" it is always rationalized, somehow. She is a person we are expected to co-miserate whith. the attitude is; 'after all, what else can we expect from this poor woman? What with the way MEN are...,'
If a female character is "evil" it is almost ALWAYS made known that she is so, because "men made her that way." (Thelma and Louise is a great example.)
But, again if a male character is "evil" he always gets his come-upance, and usualy in the most graphic, horrible and detailed way. If he's "evil" (and of course ALL men are) you then have an "excuse" to do whatever you want to him.
"He's evil, so it's okay if I enjoy watching him being bound, gagged, sodomized, degraded, humiliated and dehumanized!" That is the rational. That is particularly the rational of women, today. And don't be fooled, folks...
...Women DO enjoy this sort of thing...,
We all know TV has now begun to be targeted to women. It is no coinidence that we are now seeing this whole-sale sexual degradation of men. This is also why the whole "men-put-in-bondage-and-tortured-by-vengeful-women " scenerio is seen played out again and again and again in movies and shows made for women. WOMEN GET OFF ON THE SEXUAL DEGRADATION OF MEN. These producers KNOW that. If women DIDN'T like to see men depicted this way, these movies and shows wouldn't be made at all. that's why we see it so often and why it IS gonna get MUCH worse very SOON!

Okay, I've made my point, I'll back off a bit, now.
