I have made 11"X17" paper signs quoting stats about battered husbands. Every campus has lots of signs here there and everywhere. Put up 20 or 30 battered husband signs at the campus near you. Put them up outdoors and on bulletin boards in hallways. It's cheap and quick. That will make a lot of guys feel better and the gals will feel less dominant. Man haters will be positively furious, but that is as it should be hehe. So far, I have put up 110 bright yellow signs in three cities, at universities and at street intersections. When I drive around town and see my signs, bright and clear, it makes me feel better - like "this is my town".

Great work Paul! Can you let us know what your signs say? It would be great to see similar signs going up around the country!

Thanks for the kind words from all of you. The signs say:
"840,000
Battered
Husbands.
116 Murdered
Husbands.
Previous 5 Yrs.
Statistics Canada"
(I live in Canada. An American sign might say "Dept. of Justice"?) It sure would be great. This is something that anyone can do. I just make it using Word, print it on 8.5X11, and then go to a photocopy place to enlarge it to 11X17 on yellow paper. Then I get some packing tape or scotch tape and hit the streets. (I had to get cold temperature rated packing tape for the Canadian climate, but the standard scotch tape worked fine. I use both depending on the situation.) It is a way to take back our towns and cities and give courage to all who see them.

A few of my signs have been torn down. I've seen support and also anger while I have been taping signs up. I replaced a destroyed sign four times at a particular location, just because I am stubborn. But most of the signs are still up after two months.

I was not able to log on to the chat this Wednesday. Was it cancelled or was the problem on my end?
