But fortunately that won't happen. As Cindy Levitt, Hot Topic vice president, told the Journal, the company doesn't want to venture in that dangerous direction: "Antiboy shirts elicit a fun response, but antigirl shirts could be cruel. There's too much of a stigma."
That does it for me. I'm writing a letter to my local school district. I'm warning them that these tee-shirts create a hostile environment for boys. If they are not banned, then they can deal with a hostile environment suit.

If you're going to threaten a suit, be prepared to back it up. Find boys who feel harassed by it and who are willing to sue or find a boy willing to wear a similar anti-girl shirt and see if the same school allows it.

A male student in such a setting might have the following reaction:
"When girls are cruel and verbally abusive it makes me feel hopeless and suicidal. If the present 4 to 1 suicide rate isn't good enough, what rate of male suicide will satisfy sadistic females?"
Do we send our male students to school so school can contribute to the already dangerous, assaulting abuses that cause them to commit suicide at such high rates?
I wouldn't want to be an administrator in a school that allows one of these anti-male hate-shirts to be worn, and then has a male student commit suicide during his enrollment in that hostile environment.
I wonder:
1. What's a young students life worth?
2. What punitive damages could be assigned to the school district?
3. Could an administrator be culpable to the extent that criminal charges could be brought against him/her for criminal neglect in such a scenario?

Having left the school system just two years ago, I can definitely say that the level of anti-male attitudes, even among young girls, is very disheartening and was the cause of much hurt and confusion during my academic career. That's not a stigma that teenagers should have to live with, and it's purely criminal how these misandrists are trying to corrupt the minds of our youth so that they can drive a wedge between the genders and keep us from living with harmony and positive gender relations. But, in the American media, there seems to be no voice for our unheard minority. How can it be that half of the world's population is male, and yet that entire chunk of the populus never seems to be recognized?

When I was going through one of the local malls here, and one store had on their reduced rack a T-shirt that said "Why do boys like smart girls? Because opposites attract." Two girls (well young women really) where laughing (or course) at the shirt. I quickly said "That shirt makes that wrong assumption that there are smart girls." Just so you know I was already in a bad mood about something else, which is why I said that.
I also did see another shirt at a different store that said "I lie to boys." But they haven't had that shirt on display for sometime. I don't know if they have it on the racks inside.
So, with that last shirt, there is some major hipprocriting going on. In one hand the "Boys Lie" t-shirt is bashing boys, but the "I lie to boys" t-shirt is cheering girls on.
There is are other shirts that I do consider offensive also, like the "Girls are the best" or "Girls are #1."
Maybe a list of reponses to these t-shirts could be made. Sometimes one is just forced to fight fire with fire.

Oral or in kind? For t-shirts it is safest and makes the point most directly to just reverse the genders. I can see "Girls Suck" causing quite a frission.

Or how about "I like girls...with fava beans and a nice chianti."
Actually, I guess that's rather violent, a little above the age group in question, and would probably get the manufacturer into copyright problems with the creator of Hannibal Lecter.
In a more serious vein, I really liked a T-shirt slogan someone mentioned on this site in the past couple of weeks: "Mars to Venus: Back Off." In my opinion that lifts the level of the exchange; it does not put anyone down, but sends the unmistakable message that guys have had enough. Our society really doesn't need more nastiness in it; replying (you should pardon the expression) tit for tat doesn't strike me as a solution.
And I wonder if T-shirts with this and similar themes might catch on with clothing makers. Wouldn't they just love to make money off of both sides in this dispute, like arms dealers supplying both sides in a war!

I liked your suggestion (rising above the negativity), and your closing simile is dead center in the bulls eye. Marx was right, "a capatilist will sell you the rope to hang him with." Selling a few more T-shirts for any reason is right down their alley.

I like this; I immediately thought of this as a theme for a series of teeshirts: for each one of the bay-hating slogans, such as "boys suck", you print the rejoinder underneath "Mars to Venus: back off." This way people will know what the rejoinder is in response to.

(((" MARS TO VENUS, BACK OFF!")))
That was My very first "reactionary" T-shirt, I made about a year and a half ago. (I still have it.)
Dan lynch and I were discussing Ideas for altenative-to-hate T-shirts on the "Blackshirts on the move in Austrailia" discussion thread.
I too am (generaly) opposed to the whole "fight fire with fire" idea. usually it tends to just make things worse.
However, in THIS case I am begining to reconsider that.
If you want to make Anti-FEMALE T-shirts then I tenitavly suggest the following;
"one day girls will go too far..., And I hope they STAY there!"
"Girls are more full of S--t than a barnyard."
"Girls, You can't live WITH them... And you can't keep them chained up in your basement." (That one REALLY p---es them off.)
"A good Man IS hard to find..., But a good WOMAN is IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!"
"Today's girls are so SPOILED, that if they were Milk cartons, their expiration dates would read; B.C.!"
"help reduce GARBAGE in America..., put girls on the curb once a week."
"If girls are so smart, Why is everything invented by GUYS?!?"
"First God made MAN, and thought, he may do better so he made WOMAN. Then he said, "I should have quit while I was ahead.""
There wouldn't be any "PIGS" if there weren't so many "SOWS"".
"A girls place is in the home..., ESPESSIALY if it's on fire!"
"Q.Why are girls like LEECHES? A. They bite and they suck."
I think that may get the point accross.
Yeah, these sayings are mean, But compared to what females say about males, they are pretty tame.
I don't especialy like this idea, But maybe TURNABOUT is the only thing misadrists understand.

Here's a few I'D like to see:
Love is the delusion that one girl differs from another.
Q: What's the difference between a girl and a toilet?
A: A toilet doen't follow you around for two weeks after you use it.
Q. What do girls and bottles have in common?
A. They are both empty from the neck up!
Q. How can you tell if a girl is happy?
A. Who cares!
Girls are like guns, keep one around long enough and you're going to want to shoot it.
You know when a girl's about to say something smart when she starts her sentence with "A boy once told me...."
So you're a feminist...Isn't that cute!
Marriage is a three ring circus: Engagement ring, Wedding ring, Suffering
Female Intuition is the result of millions of years of not thinking.
Women: Can't live with them, can't bury them in the back yard without the neighbours seeing.
Women who can do. Those who can't become feminists.
Hehehehe - That'll get them hot.

How about 'Feminists Lie' line of t-shirts.
Like 'Feminists Lie (just ask them to back up their stats).
Im sure someone with some creativety could come up with some viper of a remark centered around feminists.
'Whats the difference between a feminist and a bigot? Give up? Me too.'
'A Feminists version of equality is like a whole pie and guess who doesn't get a peice.'
Feminists Suck, Feminists are Prejuduce. Feminists are Just Lackey's. Feminists are Scum, sorry I was being nice.

More ideas:
"The best man for the job is... a Man. Duh!"
"She cooed, 'Make me feel like a woman.'
So I said, 'Bring me a beer, bitch.'"
"Enjoying your pampered existence?
Thank the thousands of Men who died to give it to you."
"If it weren't for Men, we'd all still be living in grass huts."
Or the simple:
"Men matter too."
A line from Fred Reed that might work well:
"Point out just one thing with moving parts that was invented by a feminist."
Another one I read somewhere:
"A woman needs a man like a fish needs a river."
Also, I've intentionally stopped using the PC substitution of 'person' on words that have traditionally ended in 'man.' I'm once again using 'fireman,' 'policeman,' 'mailman,' 'chairman,' etc. Feminists don't like it, and I like that just fine. I'll think about changing my mind when they stop using 'gunman' and 'conman.'

You guys know what?
I saw the PBS Fronline special about September 11th last night. And it got me to thinking.
Since 9\11 there has been alot of talk about "HATE" and how it destroys.
Apearantly, ALOT of women in this country haven't learned a THING from these events.
Niether have the media or ad executives.
The Taliban wish to destroy us. And they have tried to do so from the outside.
But the feminists and just WAY to many women and more than enough men are destroying America from the inside. IMO the formentioned people are just as much to blame for our demise, if it is to be, as the Taliban.
Amoung other things, what is the objective of the Terrorist? To destroy MORALE.
Now, then, tell me, What is the objective of things like "Boy-bashing T-shirts"?
Just a thought.

Good find. One caution - while the "Boys are dumb" sticker is certainly anti-boy, the "boys don't cry" shirt is just a shirt promoting the song "boys don't cry" by the old-school alternative band The Cure. I'm sure most of us know this. Just a heads up.

After hitting the stop button because of an unreasonably long delay, I found
"Boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them." sticker & a tee-shirt with a cover design from the rock band The Cure.
The former is obviously misandrist.

I dunno, Ray. If you're wearing it, good for you, but as far as mass production and quick delivery of the message, it seems wordy and maybe a little obtuse. How about:
"No longer willing to be a doormat"
or
"Guys rule. Always did, always will"
or a headstone with the following inscription:
"Patriarchy
Died 6000 BC
Reborn 2000 AD"
or
"Girl Power?
GIRL Power?
HA?"
or
" I got your girl power, RIGHT HERE" with an arrow pointing down.
or
How about the word 'commitment' with the red circle and diagonal line through it?
or, just one word:
TESTOSTERONE!
Just a few ideas.

Fun brainstorming here. I like a lot of these ideas, especially the simple "Mars to Venus: Back Off!"
How about one of those mental puzzles that show a picture or symbol, then a plus sign, then another picture or symbol, etc.? You're supposed to figure out what it adds up to (a word, statement, or sentence). A T-shirt could have one with a picture of a woman, smiling and looking a bit conniving, then a plus sign, then a wedding ring. These would be followed by an equals sign and then a man on a gallows.

I'd still like to see the return of a positive image about men.
This positive imagery for boys growing up to be men I feel that they will lower the suicide rates and start to feel positive about being male.
I think this is the way to get the pheminists goats.
It would put them on the offensive and lighten up their true colours, to mothers and fathers a like.
"boys do not suck, boys are awesome", this could mean a lot to a boy who was just whiplashed by some fembot teacher.
We should be anti-hate advocates at the very least, not advocates of hatred.
I'm proud of my manhood and its good to be a man. Despite whats going on in the world lets not let them take that away too.

I think we should not let our enemies (I mean only the misandrists) see our weakness. To them male pain and suicide may be an indication of a job well done.
I would rather wear a T-shirt which bashes antimale politicians or designers. But then I need to find out the legal limitations of that protest. PUNISHMENT AND CRIME

One more comment on this story, then I'll shut up. While surfing the web the other day, I came across a site for and organization called "Dads and Daughters." One of their pages recounted how they had mounted a campaign against an ad for hair coloring directed at teen-age girls which they found offensive. The ad said "4 out of 5 girls you hate use this product" and encouraged the girls to become one of them. The organization objected on the grounds that this encouraged self-hatred in girls. To see their press release on this subject, click here.
A story relating the company's decision to withdraw the product may be viewed here.
I'm not trying to bash this organization at all - I think it's great that these guys are standing up for what they perceive to be their daughters' best interests. It's great that they want to support them and be involved in their lives.
My question is, how long will it be before men, and women, do the same for their sons? If a company realizes now that it is wrong to market a product that might be seen as encouraging (rather curcuitously, in my opinion) self-hatred in girls, how long will it be before companies realize it is wrong to market products that say quite directly to boys "you suck" and "you're stupid"? How long will it before enough of the public realizes this is wrong, destructive, and victimizing of some of the most vulnerable members of our society that there is no profit in marketing such things? Just wondering...
