It was informative, I honestly think the authors could have tried to tie the misandric trend with the influence feminism has had in our culture.
Also, it was odd that most of the data in this book is over 10 years old. Why didn't they keep the research current? Perhaps they couldn't find a publisher?

I forget how I found it, but I was aware of the book before it came out. And since I have read it, I've done everything I can to get it out there and known. For now I think it should be the bible of the men's movement. To get people to focus on what male bashing is and what are the ethical concerns the authors raise. Katherine K. YOUNG http://find.mcgill.ca/?words=katherine+k.+young can be found to some degree at this McGill website. There are two more books to come out in volume set. The authors are trying to make the word Misandry a commonly known word. The authors hold very punches, and describe the racist efforts of the early feminists as well. Detailing much of the movement in contrast to misandry. Every men's group, organisation, centre should know this book in combination with even Matthew Fitzgerald's book Sex-ploytation, Warren Ferral's work and Kate Fillion's book 'Lip Service', among dozens of others that Im sure your aware of. 'Spreading Misandry' gives us a defence and a lens in which to see it. If anyone knows women who have read this book I am desperately looking for their comments please email me at dan047@sympatico.ca thanks

I first found out about "Spreading Misandry" in an ad that I saw in Harper's magazine in January. I went to 4 different Borders and Barnes and Noble, and none of them stocked the book. They all recommended the internet.
So I ordered it off of Amazon.com. My parents just recieved their copy last week- three months after I placed the order. On 6 different occassions, they delayed the shipping of the book. If it was any other book, I would have simply cancelled the order.
My point is that this book is very difficult to get a hold of. Unfortunately, less scholarly books about the converse topic (misogyny) are very easy to buy.

The problem is 'demand'. The books about Misogyny are sold to the largest market, (perhaps thats why there is so many of them) that buy those types of books. I would like to think that bookstores care about the bottom line (money) more than the politics of it. Lets hope so or the "Lace Curtain" is far more reaching that previously known. Keep asking, and ask your local library to get one even if you have one already, the more people become aware of this book the more contriversy and the more talk towards a solution. Dan Lynch

I recently bought "What Men Know That Women Don't" from Virtualbookworm. After reading the book, I had occasion to email Zubaty, and in our exchange, he encouraged me to buy from the mainstream bookstores where possible in order to establish this demand. I hadn;t thoughtof this. I just bought the book from where I KNEW I could et it.
This is a good idea. If you want a bookstore to carry the books you want to read, then maybe you have to pay their price a little bit just to "grease the hinges."
