Zoomer pidgin describing Olympic idols

Humorous but thoughtful commentary by Scorched Earth Policy (here):

The word goonbait upsets women because it rips away a delicate curtain of deniability which has upheld the economy of casual sex for the last century or so. None of the women defending the open tongued Olympian here are part of her generation. They question why "Porn addicts have to sexualize everything" because they're operating from a framework that depends on upholding the structure of civility the term violates. They're either ignorant of the signalling or complicit in trying to normalize it as a nonsexual expression. ...

What women think is happening is that men are sexualizing a young girl. What's actually happening is that men are instinctively critiquing a young girl unconsciously sexualizing herself through an innocuous expression, and by extension, critiquing the steady decline of societal standards that has been occurring since at least the 18th century.
