Government of Canada announces recipients of $100-million Feminist Response and Recovery Fund

Article here. Excerpt:

'Advancing gender equality is a key priority for the Government of Canada. The COVID-19 pandemic has magnified systemic and longstanding inequalities, with women and girls disproportionately impacted by the crisis. Women have faced job losses and reduced work hours, shouldered the majority of the additional unpaid care responsibilities at home, and continue to be on the front lines of the pandemic. As Canada moves towards an inclusive recovery, meaningful progress to advance gender equality is needed now more than ever to ensure no one is left behind.

To further support critical recovery efforts led by the women's and equality-seeking movement, today the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development, announced 237 projects to receive funding under the $100 million Feminist Response and Recovery Fund call for proposals.

This investment will support projects that address systemic issues that vulnerable and underrepresented women face and help ensure an inclusive recovery from the social and economic impacts of the pandemic. Projects will also encourage women and girls in leadership and decision-making roles, improve their economic security and prosperity and work to end gender-based violence to help build a Canada that is fair, equal and equitable for everyone.'

Canadian men experience shorter life expectancy, and fewer years of good health, while Canadian women will have move Canadian tax dollars spent per capita on women's health.

Canadian men have been more likely to be impacted by Covid-19 in all age groups except >80 years, where the higher all cause mortality rate of males across all other age groups leaves overwhelming numbers of older females (absolute numbers not age adjusted). Age adjusted rates continue to show males most affected. This is despite males and females showing very similar vaccination rates.

At the start of the 2020/2021 school year, the rate of young people aged 15 to 29 not in employment, education or training (NEET) was higher compared to a year earlier, especially for men. The rate stood at 12% for women (up from 11%) and 14% for men (up from 10%).

In September-October 2020, both women and men aged 20-24 experienced similar decreases in the proportion working and not in school (-6 percentage points). However, women aged 25 to 29 did not experience a significant decrease in the proportion working and not in school, while similarly-aged men saw a 5 percentage point drop, primarily as a result of job losses in the construction industry.

The only women noted to be more affected by covid-19 were minority women's groups, but this was only in comparison to the overall female cohort; i.e. migrant women, LGBTI women, indigenous women. These women's minority groups were not compared to similar male minority groups (male minority groups were not reported).

So basically, more money for women based on statistics that show men, and most likely men in vulnerable minority groups, were most affected. Sexist pigs giving money to women to buy votes, while men struggle with little assistance, state sanctioned denial of services based on sex and entrenched misandry.
