Man Claims Jet Blue Forced Him To Sit In Bathroom to Accomodate Uncomfortable StewardessStory here. Excerpt: 'A Manhattan man is suing JetBlue, claiming he was forced to sit in an airplane bathroom for hours during a cross-country flight. Gokhan Mutlu was flying standby from San Diego to New York in February. He says he had a seat initially, but was woken up 90 minutes into the flight. He says the pilot told him that he would have to give his seat up to a flight attendant, who had complained that her jump seat was uncomfortable.' |

"Enforced chivalry"
Pretty much like divorce court only without the breathable air and with barf bags... though I suppose many men would need those in divorce court, too.
He'll Win
And it has nothing to do with JetBlue feeling bad for the male customer. It has everything to do with the fact that the media is actually reporting about this.
"her jump seat was
"her jump seat was uncomfortable"?
Sitting on the jump seat is her @#$£*ing job! I suppose she doesn't like smiling and pouring coffee either.
She is the victim in all of this. She should be paid a salary for staying at home and doing nothing. That corporate predator JetBlue is oppressing her by forcing her to work for her money.
A slight clarification.
Sitting on the jump seat is her @#$£*ing job! I suppose she doesn't like smiling and pouring coffee either.
Note: I don't work for JetBlue, but I do work for one of their competitors.
According to the first article I saw on this, "the seat" was not part of her job on that particular flight. She was flying standby ("non-revving" in industry vernacular) just as he was. Airline employees can sign up to fly free on the company's regular scheduled planes. If regular cabin seats go unsold, they sit there. If all seats are sold, discount carriers which fly with less attendants than the more expensive carriers (e.g. 3 on a 737 instead of 4) allow an employee (even a headquarters employee like myself) to ride in the plane's spare jumpseat. That's what she was (initially) doing here.
Not that that in any way excuses what happened once they were in the air....
Okay, I'm missing something:
Okay, I'm missing something: Why couldn't he take the jump seat?
regards,
MAJ
Okay, now, I RTFA!
It was alleged that only JetBlu employees could sit there.
Or better yet
Why didn't she just shut the fuck up and deal with the fact that she'll have to be a bit uncomfortable (while on the ground, millions of people, mostly men, are doing very uncomfortable jobs for a living).
"Why didn't she just shut the fuck up..."
Blaze,
That's what I was wondering.
Then it dawned on me that she is a member of the "fair" sex.
If it was done to her that wouldn't be fair. But when women stick it to men, that IS fair. *shakes head*
And of course being a man, he has to; "Shut up, and TAKE IT like a man..."
Well I say we DON'T "Shut up, and take it like a man!".
I say we stand up for ourselves LIKE MEN.
Thundercloud.
HOKA-HEY!
Ladies, remember; you can't preach EQUALITY while claiming SUPERIORITY. Dig?
