UK: Woman with 17 prior assault convictions remains unjailed after 18th

Story here. Excerpt:

'With blood spattered over his injured face, this is Ronnie Lee on his way to hospital minutes after being glassed in an unprovoked attack by a woman.

Lucky not to lose an eye, the 24-year-old telesales company director needed four stitches following the assault.

But despite his injuries, his assailant, estate agent Yasmin Thomas, 21, walked free from court this week with a suspended sentence – despite notching up her 18th conviction for assault.
...
Yesterday Mr Lee said he was disgusted at the leniency of the sentence, which includes an anger management course.

He said: ‘If it was the other way around and I did that to her, I would be going straight to jail.

‘What happens next time if she does something and it’s life threatening? She could end up killing someone.

‘She’s got 18 convictions already. She’s a danger to herself and others around her.
...
‘Yasmin picked it up and tapped me on the shoulder and gave it to me. I was surprised and handed it back to Richard.

‘She then said ‘‘Aren’t you gonna say thank you then?’’ I was confused and didn’t say anything. She threw a drink on my face first and then smashed the glass on my left eye socket.’

Mr Lee suffered a deep cut close to the eye and other smaller cuts to his face.'

Laws exist for a reason. The typical person of either sex doesn't behave as she did, but if someone does, they need to be punished.

And if they aren't? Crazy people are allowed to act crazy, and keep doing things like this nut-job did. The "pussy pass" makes the world a less-safe place for everyone, particularly men.

Given the degree with which it seems women, esp. younger, prettier ones, can act violently with near-impunity, it's a wonder more such cases don't exist -- but since the media is slow to report them, it's hard to say how many more of these kinds of incidents go unreported for every one that gets covered.

One time, I had a conversation with the cleaning staff person at a Hilton.

I asked her which gender makes the bathroom sloppier. She said it was men.

So I continued...

"Tell me: when did you start putting lids on the wastebaskets in the bathrooms?"

She said they had been put on about ten years previous, in response to survey requests by female travelers.

"Good," I told her. "Now let me explain. Women like those neat little lids. They bend down, lift the lid and place the makeup product in the canister. Men will not bend down for no one. Once they see the lid on the canister, they will toss the paper on the floor. Now, men will not change, women will not change. But if you want men NOT to toss the trash on the floor, just remove the lids. Yes, female travelers will be distraught at the ungainly sight of trash, but then you will have less to clean up."

I am not sure what they decided to do. But when I see the lid on the canister, I throw the trash on the floor. But I leave a note explaining that their "...policy, while favoring women, hurts their staff... and I will not change for no one."

That's ironic. I just commented on the story above this one that the UK justice system is essentially allergic to holding women accountable for their crimes, namely their violent crimes. This story here is the perfect example of what I'm talking about.

Needless to say, when someone with 18 assault convictions-the most recent of which was unprovoked and could have very well blinded the victim and left him disfigured-walks away free, there is something seriously rotten in the state of Britain.
