Excerpt: 'NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - About one in 25 U.S. teens has attempted suicide, according to a new national study, and one in eight has thought about it. Although girls are more likely to attempt suicide - a pattern confirmed by Nock's study - boys have higher rates of death by suicide because they typically choose more deadly methods, such as guns.'

If the "success rate" were as high for girls...
... you can be sure this'd be front-page news daily.
Notice the gender-neutral use of "youths" everywhere. Yes, it's true both girls and boys commit or attempt suicide. What is woefully under-stated is the extent to which the numbers differ. Read it here.
